Three days ago was the 3rd anniversary of our loss of Chloe. She was such a wonderful companion. We still miss her. Memories are strong & we draw upon what she taught us about life. Hug & pamper your fuzzy child today & everyday. Images (adoption; thinker; hiding in Texas bluebonnets; New Mexico)
The wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald happened 50 years ago today.
Gordon Lightfoot memorialized the tragedy in a haunting song.
Bob Dylan once implied that Gordon Lightfoot was the greatest songwriter of all time. He was certainly one of the great ones.

Grew up a Dodger's fan & sustained my allegiance through the years out of memory of my father's love for the Brooklyn & later Los Angeles Dodgers. I also loved going to Blue Jays games in the early 1990s while living in ONT.
Blue Jays played like champs. Respect to both teams for a GREAT series.

It’s been obvious now for years for Covid-19, but this adds to the evidence for other viral infections.
A number of viral infections, including flu, Covid-19 and shingles, are linked to an increased risk of heart disease and stroke, a new study affirmed.

Defaulting to surgical masks in health care settings in 2025 is one of the most dissapointing examples of reluctance to change despite overwhelming evidence.
Even defaulting to KN95 style would significantly increase protection of the most vulnerable.
Infuriating inertia in the HC industry.

Dry dusting is just moving dust around. I use a spritz of HOCI on my dust cloths. It's amazing how little dust forms especially on the ceiling fans when the corsi box is running pretty much running 24/7. The difference is night and day. When you have fur babies a corsi box is a must.❤️

Buried in the soil or drifting on the wind, Valley fever fungus spreads further around the Southwest
“The West’s Lyme disease” gets less attention as cases rise – even while drastically undercounted. Climate change and land development are worsening the picture.

Portable air filters clean indoor air from smoke, dust, pet dander, viruses, and more. They are cheap & simple to make — I’ve built several — and nearly silent to run. *There is no downside.* Should be in every workplace, community space, school, daycare, medical facility, & home.
In our short existence, The Corsi-Rosenthal Foundation has issued 58 grants providing healthier indoor air to 30,000 ppl.
The Foundation aims to substantially increase these benefits to under-resourced schools over the next several months.

Both suggest we are now near multi year lows for transmission. I'd expect this to last for another month before Thanksgiving gives it a boost up.
