All day yesterday, as I braced for disappointment, I repeated this quote to myself.

To all of you hopeful fighters, good morning. You won a round.
They’re building a concentration camp in Chester NY and you’re gently encouraging them to follow the law? IT’S ON A RAIL SPUR, CHUCK. That should make it really easy to move human beings in railroad cars. Stop negotiating.

Crucially, many local governments are furious with ICE over these purchases, because they were not consulted or even told. Because they are federal property now, it's taking a commercial property off the tax rolls while likely imposing dramatic additional infrastructure costs.

In the last month ICE has bought warehouses in:

- Hagerstown, MD: $102 million
- Surprise, AZ: $70 million
- Hamburg, PA: $87 million
- Tremont, PA: $120 million
- San Antonio, TX: $82 million
- El Paso, TX: $123 million
- Social Circle, GA: price unknown

This is unprecedented.

Im in Brooklyn, so most of my stuff freezes by late October, but I leave my flowering weeds for the late flyers. We’ve got so many weirdo little wasps and bees now. My friend and I think we spotted a couple blueberry bees this year.

Dr. Sammy part 2. So many plants we eat aren’t native. So many of the plants we call native are NOT. Like honey bees and Mexican milkweed, many are naturalized, having been here hundreds of years. There’s an elitist snobbery about “native only,” that’s not inspiring.

It’s a balmy 25 degrees and sunny and beautiful today in Brooklyn.

Everywhere I’ve gone today, people have their windows open, blasting Bad Bunny.

It’s the weekend everyone, so you know what that means. Time to drink two polar seltzers and do a thread on the power transformer shortage. Without transformers, we don’t get a clean energy transition. And as energysky knows, there’s been a shortage due to covid, supply chain, & labor constraints 🔌🔋

🧵 If you care about our Haitian neighbors in Ohio, please debunk & “call in” folks with large platforms claiming the churches are trafficking children.

The community is bracing for what could possibly be the largest family separation operation in US history.

RESPECT and LISTEN to the Haitian community that lives there.

Locals have shared “leftists influencers” as agressive as the administration is threatening to do an ethnic cleansing.

Here is a video debunking the claims.

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to have adhd, the answer to that 3 am urgent question “I wonder if the yolk will fall out neatly and look cool if you carefully cut the white in a spiral” is …YES.
But it should probably cooked more firmly than I like them, because its cooked but too delicate.

I started painting because of this feed. I’m *terrible* and it is sooo hard and I still like it.
