This, of course, from a legislator who hates taxes so much that last year he voted to pass an amendment to block new taxes unless there was a two-thirds supermajority vote. (It failed.)

He would also like you to know that he is VERY masculine.
Declaring "my pronouns are 'masculine male'' really get this guy soooooclose

"Porn isn't some magical category of speech separate from movies, streaming services or other forms of entertainment. Adult businesses already pay taxes on income, just as every other business. Taxing them because of imagined harms sets a dangerous precedent for government power" —@fsc.bsky.social

A conservative Utah lawmaker is trying to raise taxes on people who consume porn.

HB73 would force Utahns to pay a special 7% tax — on top of sales tax — for every fan site subscription, camming tip, clip download or other purchase of "material harmful to minors."
Utah lawmakers aim their sights at streaming services, porn sites for taxes
A bill introduced in the Utah State Legislature would impose a new tax on pornographic websites, while a separate piece of legislation closes a tax loophole on streaming services.

Honestly if you call up your reps about the anti-porn anti-SWer censorship laws/campaigns/etc you should really be hammering on this point, like, super hard

There is no reason on earth those laws should be taken even a little bit seriously now, or given anywhere near this level of importance. None.

It's a cool place, and they say it gets colder
You're bundled up now, wait 'til you get older
But the meteor men beg to differ
Judging by the hole in the satellite picture
The ice we skate is gettin' pretty thin

Concept character/partner select screens for the Freedom Planet fangame that I'm working on, which is going to be a beat 'em up instead of a 2D platformer.

This is all subject to change once I start getting into actual drawing.

While Paul obviously has a personal grievance at play, it’s obvious he’s chosen to air this in a Post op-ed for a reason. It’s pretext for a conservative audience

The problem that many adults do not seem to realize about "age verification" is that everyone who is not a teen will have to provide ID (and personal data) to prove it. It's not about protecting kids, it's to control everyone.
Don’t believe the claims about ‘kids safety’ behind the push for Online ID checks. They are and always have been about surveillance and censorship.

Extremely wide-ranging censorship here. Anything that contains *verbal or narrative* accounts of *sexual excitement*? The final bit might kill the whole thing, because *none of this is harmful to minors*.
TN is considering a new bill that allows parents to sue large platforms that allow "material harmful to minors"— including sculpture, drawings, photos, music or video games— that describe or depict nudity, sex or "excessive violence"

The censorship that started with "porn" is coming for everything.

Virtue signaling at its finest.

This country doesn't give two fucks about children.

Anytime you see legislation to "save children" it is a muthafucking lie and manipulation.
Left or Right, it literally makes no difference.
They refuse to actually save children from pedos or guns.
