My fellow Texas Democrats and I broke quorum to shine a national spotlight on Trump’s redistricting power grab.

We inspired other states and millions of Americans to join the fight.

Moments ago a federal court struck down his rigged map.

This is why we fight back.

🌈 Even after the rainbow was erased, Houstonians made sure its colors stayed.

After city crews removed the Montrose Pride crosswalk under Gov. Greg Abbott’s directive, new painted rainbows and handwritten messages have appeared around the intersection.

I feel like people who don't like candy corn don't understand how to eat it.
You're not supposed to chew.
You just swallow it with water, like a pill.

Sewing pattern makers who use GenAI for the finished garment images should be kicked off of every platform for fraud. If you, as the creator, can’t make the garment and take a photo of it, you shouldn’t be selling the pattern.
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?

Hey @texastribune.org @houstonchronicle.com @houstonpublicmedia.bsky.social are y’all reporting on the Texas voter registration backlog that may prevent thousands of people from being registered to vote by the Oct. 6 deadline?
September 26, 2025 at 3:34 PM
My Texas voter registration has been pending for 3 MONTHS! The deadline to register is Oct 6 so who knows if I’ll be able to vote. I’ve made so many phone calls and sent emails. Spoke to county officials, Secretary of State people. No one seems to care or is able to help.

finally a Texas candidate I like for senate!
I’m running for the U.S. Senate.

Billionaires have taken over Texas and taken over America — but together, we can take power back for working people.

This dress would fix me
Summer may be on the wane here but there are golden moments still with September sunsets. James Galanos created this burnished silk chiffon sundress in the mid #1950s, form fitting at the bodice and layers for the skirt @phxart.bsky.social #FashionHistory 🗃️🪡

So I still use Pinterest to gather ideas and I’ve noticed that there is so much AI trash on there now. Sometimes images are labeled as AI but most are not. It’s getting frustrating to use since I have to question every other image.

Owning an old house is not for the weak. What was supposed to be a simple foundation leveling has turned into a semi-renovation. The plan was to phase out the work we had planned through the end of the year but now it’ll have to be done a lot sooner.

The end of summer has been a blur of job interviews, home repairs, and a property tax protest. Now I’m almost done with onboarding at my new job, home repairs are underway (though still stressful), and the tax protest went better than expected. Fingers crossed fall is more fun.

Well this sucks. I will say that not all Shipley’s locations taste the same and I have a single favorite location in the city. I hope they don’t change 🥲
Shipley Do-Nuts, the Houston-based purveyor of kolaches and doughnuts, has been acquired by Levine Leichtman Capital Partners, a private equity firm based in Beverly Hills, Calif. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. bit.ly/3UwtE1t
