My entire personality is going to be Vancouver Fashion Week for the foreseeable future. This show was such a big achievement for me, and I’m overjoyed by how well it went. My designs looked unbelievable out there!!
I caught a cold after getting home from vacation, and it has weirdly helped the transition back to real life since I’m forced to take it easy and not jump right back into being productive. Meanwhile, my Stardew Valley farm hasn’t been so efficient in years.

In bed before 8:30pm thanks to mild jet lag and an exhausting travel morning that started at 2:45am.

It would have been fine, we went to bed early… but despite the fact that we were staying at a quiet peaceful adults-only resort, some frat house fuckheads decided to have a room party at midnight.

There is something incredibly freeing about being 40 and wearing a bikini at a resort where nobody gives a shit about how you look and everyone just has normal human bodies of various shapes and sizes. Everyone is happy and having fun. The internet and influencer culture aren’t real life.

Cancún has been dreamy. 💖 Tomorrow is somehow our last day already, but we’re going to make the most of it!

What a morning: I had awful travel anxiety nausea and caused us to leave late, and the hatchback SUV Uber we took to the airport had the back come open, my SUITCASE FELL OUT, and nobody noticed. If we hadn’t turned back because of a train crossing, that would have been game over for our vacation. 💀

Nothing like sharing my new manicure on my stories and having a “friend” ask what they were (acrylic, shellac, etc) and when told that they’re hard gel, for them to say that they’d never do that because they don’t want to “ruin their nails”.

What a bizarre and rude thing to say.

Every time I’ve been out on transit lately, someone has been watching videos with the volume up on their phone or loudly FaceTiming without headphones, and I really just wish I could perfect a withering look that would brick their phones.

I enjoyed teaching part-time sewing for the last few months, but on review, it just isn’t viable to work evenings so far from home. It either takes almost 2 hours to get home if the buses line up, or an Uber ride that costs almost as much as I made in 1 class. I still feel sad to give it up though.

As many have pointed out, Mamdani didn't stand apart from our trans brothers and sisters. He didn't play the "Gee, gosh, it sure is complicated," milquetoast moderate card. And he crushed.

The way forward is together, not over the bodies of our own.

There’s nothing like being sick and having your upstairs neighbour decide that today is the day they’re going to be randomly hammering things, and it’s always going to be directly above whichever room you’ve moved to for a nap. 🫠

As a former QA tester, this makes me boil with rage. AI already can’t validate its own results at the best of times, what makes these idiots think it’s going to be able to creatively break a game or meticulously check like actual QA does?
It figures that an industry that thinks that "vibe coding" is a reliable thing would now decide that QA is the next thing you can replace with AI 😒

Your friendly reminder that good QA people are worth their weight in gold and an invaluable part of game dev

Just got my flu and COVID shots, plus a vaccine for our upcoming vacation. It’s been 10 years since I last went to Mexico and the Chikungunya vaccine was suggested, and I LOVE getting shots for things I didn’t realize were now a threat- it puts my little hypochondriac mind at ease.

Yesterday, I turned 40 and got to see my favourite band of all time!

I’ve been listening to Garbage since I was 10 years old and seeing them on a milestone birthday, playing some of the same songs I’ve loved all this time, felt so special. It was an incredible show! ❤️

Sewing pattern makers who use GenAI for the finished garment images should be kicked off of every platform for fraud. If you, as the creator, can’t make the garment and take a photo of it, you shouldn’t be selling the pattern.
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?

“When they rob us of art and emotion, that leads us towards the aesthetics of fascism. In this film, all the sets are real, the decor is human-sized, there are painstakingly created miniatures... It’s there to remind us that art is not only necessary, it is urgent. And AI can go fuck itself!”

My school is doing their second-ever Vancouver Fashion Week show this evening, and though I know I wouldn’t have had the time for it this year with graduating and all, I had such an amazing time last year that the FOMO is absolutely crushing today. 🫠
