Cancún has been dreamy. 💖 Tomorrow is somehow our last day already, but we’re going to make the most of it!

Yesterday, I turned 40 and got to see my favourite band of all time!

I’ve been listening to Garbage since I was 10 years old and seeing them on a milestone birthday, playing some of the same songs I’ve loved all this time, felt so special. It was an incredible show! ❤️

I also came up with a Very Good Look for the show that was also summer-appropriate, though the long hair got clipped up almost immediately once we went outside because 30C and humid is a sensory nightmare.

Nine Inch Nails was the best show I’ve ever seen. What an absolute joy to finally be able to see them live, and it was everything I hoped it would be.

Closing out with Hurt gave me chills. Indescribably beautiful and intense. I hope I get the chance to see them again on another tour.

My parents got a new puppy after their beloved dog of 12 years passed away in June, and I am delighted to report that he is Extremely Small and Soft

My parents’ dog Lemmy passed away today at 12. He was the first dog they’d had since my older brother and I were born, and I will miss him terribly. I hope he’s chainsaw-snoring and destroying squeaky toys over the rainbow bridge.

Very excited for my nail appointment today, I got a painful crack quite far down and had to cut down one of my nails last week. Not only do I know what it looks like AND that I’m noncommittal/bad at it, it’s also so hard to text because I’ve adapted to having long nails. 🥲

Spent two days working on beading homework in preparation for couture class starting back up tomorrow. I really love beading but I wish it didn’t take SO long.

I also inadvertently created a “paint water” situation with my bowl of chocolate chips too close to my bowl of sequins. 😂
Beadwork homework for couture class, featuring one side of a halter neckline for a dress in teal fabric. The piece has been partially beaded with tube/bugle beads in a 4 horizontal/4 vertical pattern to create gradually enlarging diamond shapes down the center. They aren’t matching the basting thread guidelines I stitched from my teacher’s pattern because I was dumb of ass and used longer beads than my teacher did her demo with. Still looks good, though. Hand-beading and snacking dangerously, with one small bowl full of sequins and one bowl with some chocolate chips, creating the unique risk of snatching up a handful of sequins and trying to eat them. The completed beading sample on a teal blue halter dress strap for my couture class, with the gold bugle bead diamond pattern completed and the triangle void spaces around them filled in with gold sequins topped with round gold beads. It looks very glitzy.

My husband and I did our Christmas early since we’re going to his parents’ tomorrow. He got me everything I need to kick off 2025’s rampant D&D hyperfixation, including the most beautiful dice I’ve ever seen. I love him so much!! Baby’s first D20. 🥲

I wrapped gifts for the in-laws and labeled them so my husband could write all the gift tags. I also labeled two gifts for the nephews as a part of a Transformers scheme he has planned, but now it looks like we’re lovingly giving gifts to Optimus Prime and Megatron. Truly the reason for the season.

Still can’t believe Disney let us get away with designing Hot Woody for Mirrorverse. Our art director partner at Disney Interactive even pushed us to make him even hotter. Definitely one of the most hilarious high points of my time on the project.
Woody from Toy Story, reimagined for Disney Mirrorverse as a dashing cowboy with a five o’clock shadow, brown leather duster coat and boots, slim blue jeans, a wide belt with a bull emblem, and metal-detailed gloves and spurs. Dubbed “Hot Woody” by the community, and it shows.
