Remember Woodward & Bernstein? Exposed a massive scandal, got a president impeached?

Bernstein's kid wrote this wretched piece of shit. I don't know where you can find a better symbol of American media's decline. Just nauseating.

#Eurovision Hot take: Artists announcements without songs are completely pointless and should be ignored, and not breathlessly covered by fan media.

What’s most amazing about the speed camera discourse Is that all of the people who typically talk about personal responsibility and how our society has given up on it suddenly think that should go out the window once someone actually has the ability to harm others quite easily in their hands

As @rbreich.bsky.social notes billionaires and their families own X, Paramount, CBS, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, the Washington Post, Amazon, MGM, Fox News, the Wall Street Journal and New York Post, and could soon own Warner Bros and CNN

And they are all Trump supporters

"Liberal media" indeed

ok but that latter position is basically saying the basic rudiments of democracy don't work, in which case i'd have a lot of Qs and ideas and none of them would concern the filibuster.
There's "let them kill the filibuster and then when they push through crazy shit the electorate will throw them out" scenario vs "they'll push through crazy shit and people will suffer and its highly likely that the electorate will not, in fact, throw them out"

Klein's "Charlie Kirk was doing politics the right way" line is particularly telling here. It had nothing to do with the facts of Kirk's life and actions, and everything to do with belief. If Kirk *wasn't* doing politics the right way, Klein's own interactions with him seem naive and foolish.

One caution I'd offer as everyone goes through these emails is that *Jeffrey Epstein* (of all people) saying something in an email does not automatically make it true!

I firmly believe the failure to cover Trump’s abhorrent behavior comes from the toxic solipsism of the political media, which is obsessed with being seen as serious, sees Trump’s indiscretions as a kind of sensationalist trap for less sophisticated minds, and applauds itself for not falling for it
Stuff like this makes me wonder why there hasn't been any reporting about Trump having affairs during his presidencies

The consensus view among the Dem base is:
-normie mainstream liberalism
-unremitting, fire-breathing, hardline anti-Trumpism

The factions that exist outside of this consensus have a strong incentive to essentially act as if it’s not an option, and you must choose either leftism or accommodationism

Both the left and the “don’t fight” Democrats want to depict the “fight/don’t fight” conflict within the Democratic Party as a proxy conflict between the left and the center. It gives the left a lot of extra lift while giving the “don’t fight” faction a tool to keep people on side. But it’s wrong!

Hey so “underage girls” are…children. The word you’re looking for is children. They’re not like, women-in-waiting or women-lite or whatever. They’re children. I think some of you are very uncomfortable with what that means for you but it is still true.

It's always good to have something confirmed by experiment, but the basic premise of phonics is that you actually teach kids how to read. Like read the sequence of letters written down, and not just guess words based on pictures. Seems reasonable!
