Some very funny commentary on the emptiness of modern fascism to be like "This disgusting Latin devil-music perverts our heritage and is a profound insult to our beautiful 401(k)s".

i worry that a 5-year stretch of nothing but ads for NFTs, bitcoin, and AI is a long enough gap that this nation's once-great advertising industry will forget how to sell a product people actually want

How is AI supposed to know which players have good leadership qualities?

once again these things boil down to “is your group a bohemian cultural identity” or “is your group actually trying to do things?” and the key tell is whether your activity centers on policing of in-group behavior or whether it centers on, again, tangible goals

I stand with County Executive Calvin Ball as he signs emergency legislation today prohibiting privately owned buildings from being used as ICE detention centers.

Howard County chose dignity, accountability, and its people. Tune into our event now:

Congressional Democrats tried to ban gerrymandering nationwide with bills in 2019 and 2021.

Rob Wittman and every other Republican voted against them to defeat that ban

Sometimes I sympathize with Trump, because it probably is genuinely very confusing why you can talk about purging the lifeblood of the nation of foreign filth and nobody cares, and then you post some dumb racist video and everyone starts yelling at you.
I found the dumbest most pathetic post on the internet today:

You’re so right: those were civilians, not combatants! I apologize for the error.

How bad is it:

-Clear violation of the Laws Of Armed Conflict

-There appear to be multiple casualties

-Steps in the escalation of force protocols (the “Kill-Chain”) were NOT followed

This is really an instance of a very longstanding trend where secular pundits end up unwittingly aligned with fundamentalists in treating the crudest and most extreme version of any faith as the genuine article and everything else as somehow inauthentic.
Trump's attempt to crush a religious uprising might be obvious if the press corps treated everyone’s faith as equally authentic, hence equally legitimate. It doesn’t.
