And *here’s* the point.

Not about economic growth.

Not about national security.

Not about freedom from tyranny.

Not about drugs.

Not about America First.

Only about profiting the preferred Oligarchs of the Trump regime.

This is what a Competitive Authoritarian Oligarchy looks like.

Just a reminder to folks that if someone made a good point on X, someone has likely made the same point on BlueSky worth sharing.

If someone has made a bad point on X, the point many of us made by leaving that place and coming here was to escape the social media outrage machine.

Post accordingly.

Let’s not forget in our focus on the rise of American autocracy and military adventurism that Putin has murdered a generation of both Ukranians and Russians with his war of choice.

Both a needed reminder, and a cautionary tale.

People will immediately go to the, “Oh, his polling numbers must be bad” or “He’s prepping to run for President” and either/both could be true, but I prefer to see this in the spirit it was delivered; a man who cares about every one of his constituents.
Minnesota has to come first - always.

Today, I’m proud of the work we’ve done to make Minnesota the best place to live and raise kids.

I’ve decided to step out of the race and let others worry about the election while I focus on the work.

I hate to even have to ask, but it would be a great service for nations to start treating the America like the rogue nation that it is.

There are a hundred more important things to say, and I tried to say some of them in my essay for "Thinking About...", but: invading a country for oil is also just atavistic at this point. Even if it worked, which it won’t, it still wouldn’t work.

Himes: "I was delighted to hear that Tom Cotton, chairmen of the Senate Intel Committee, has been in regular contact with the admin. I've had zero outreach and no D I'm aware of has. So apparently we're now in a world where the legal obligation to keep Congress informed only applies to your party."

Yeah, people are fixating on a Cabinet Secretary being given a sovereign country to run because the president waged war without congressional approval and kidnapped the old leader. Weird that they’d get hung up on that.
WELKER: Mr. Secretary, are you running Venezuela right now?

MARCO RUBIO: Yeah. People are fixating on that. Here's the bottom line -- we expect to see changes in Venezuela

Roughly half of defense spending goes to private contractors that routinely price-gouge the government.

Meanwhile, the Pentagon has failed EIGHT straight audits.
