One example: In the 60s The Black Panthers started a program to feed kids free breakfast who couldn’t afford it and would have otherwise gone to school hungry. It was so effective that J Edgar Hoover had FBI agents raid kitchens and destroy the breakfast food so it couldn’t be served to them.
