There is no replacement for reading.
#AI may indeed exacerbate our bad academic habits:

#LLM science summaries were nearly five times more likely than human-authored science summaries to contain broad generalizations (95% CI [3.06, 7.70], p < 0.001).

And newer models over-generalized more; not less!

I've been tracking the spread of nonconsensual deepfakes on X for more than two years. Here's a timeline of how Musk's leadership allowed the practice to flourish from a once-underground market to a viral trend, with little recourse for victims or legal enforcement.

LLMs are 100% - yes, 100% - the results of their programmer's intentions.

Yes, there are some unexpected outputs. But if you'd chatbot creates sexual images of young children, either the programmers don't care or THEY EXPLICITLY WANTED IT TO DO THAT.
1. Headlines everywhere today read "Grok apologizes."

This is bullshit. A chatbot is not something that can apologize.

Pretending otherwise is simple laundering these companies' bullshit about what AI is, while diffusing blame away from the human beings that developed and released this system.

for those curious about vaginoplasties, it's actually not at all that difficult to install the viper jaws; the trick has always been the xenomorph-like second set of jaws that pop out, but modern advances in bionic prosthetics have allowed trans women to install gau-8/a avengers in its place instead

A little-noticed provision in the TRUMP AI Act would ban big tech platforms, including ostensibly Google, from distributing "sexual material harmful to minors" — a phrase routinely used by conservatives to ban not only porn, but sex ed, LGBTQ literature and repro rights resources.
The TRUMP AMERICA AI Act is every bit as bad as you would expect. Maybe worse.
Sen. Marsha Blackburn’s latest is an anti-tech omnibus, combining years' worth of dangerous policy ideas into one big, bad bill.

2025 was by far the strongest year ever for novels by trans writers from major publishers -- and that's before you get down to smaller presses and self-published stuff, which were also cooking. God, I hope it sustains in 2026 and beyond. A lot of these books sold well! The audience is there!
