Is it worth reminding everyone that we wrote about the solutions to digital dominance in #RegulatingCode (2013) & #InternetCoregulation (2011), based on multi year multidisciplinary multinational (multiple) studies for the European Commission from 2004-7?! It's the 21st birthday of @ox.ac.uk report
His Trump January 6 moment, except Trump didn't pay at all despite being impeached twice and stealing top secrets then flooding them in a bathroom
102 years ago, on the 11th of November 1923, Adolf Hitler was arrested for high treason for his role in the Beer Hall Putsch days earlier. He was sentenced to five years but received friendly treatment by guards, was allowed to meet with party members and was released again in December 1924. #otd 🗃️

Though Trump’s pardons can’t extend to state crimes, I think it’s worth pointing out the message being conveyed:

Trump’s allies are alleged to have stolen data from state voting systems in an effort to help him overturn an election he lost.

Now he’s pardoning them for it.

bsky.app/profile/anna...
News coverage of this has focused on the pardon of those involved in the fake electors plot.

But the pardon also extends to key figures who participated in the unauthorized breach of voting systems in Coffee County, Georgia

Outraged by the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, a wilderness survival trainer spent years undercover climbing the ranks of right-wing militias.

He didn’t tell police or the FBI. He didn’t tell family or friends. The one person he told was ProPublica reporter @josh-kaplan.bsky.social.

24 years ago, I was on the first research cruise to the newly established Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary in Lake Huron to map all of the shipwrecks in the area.

We had a huge binder of research on all the suspected wrecks. Most of them sank in a "collision in the fog."
In the century leading up to 1975, nearly 6000 freighters went down in the Great Lakes.

The Edmund Fitzgerald was the last.

The last. In 50 years, not a single commercial freighter has been lost in the Great Lakes.

Why?

It's NOAA. Of course it's NOAA.

Almost impossible to achieve slower enforcement of #magicAI illegal data usage but EU is going to try ... Instead of #RegulatingCode
The EU’s Digital Omnibus could roll back key parts of the GDPR, AI Act, and ePrivacy rules — laws that set global standards for privacy and AI. Leaked drafts suggest companies could get more leeway on data use and slower enforcement, reports Ramsha Jahangir (@ramshajahangir.bsky.social):
