Citizens already face AI harms: discrimination, privacy-violations, psychological and environmental harms. Instead of effectively addressing these harms and stopping companies from exploiting workers and stealing creative work, the President is promoting AI hype that serves these companies.

It's really frustrating to see so many world leaders abandon principles and common sense to get on board with the AI hype train.

If the technology is really as critical as they say then why aren't they employing critical thinking in their approaches?

Is there a scientific crisis in AI evaluations‽ We did the hard work of reviewing all recent AI benchmarks in top AI conferences. Amongst the 445 reviewed benchmarks, few offer rigorous evaluations of AI capabilities, making it difficult to actually track advances in the field and compare models.
