Xenosaga Pied Piper!

A game locked on Japanese mobile phones until just recently is now translated and playable.

It tells the backstory of Ziggurat 8 / Jan Sauer so it's definitely interesting for fans of the series looking for more.

When OpenAI released ChatGPT, it was trained on pirated books.

This finally came to light in a lawsuit three months ago, but it has gone essentially unreported.

This is depressing.

What kind of a person thinks writing a heartfelt message to a loved one is "living in the dark ages" and we should all be using a GPT for such tasks?

AI evangelists care so little for humanity, including their own.
My wife embraces AI, while I fear its spread. This Valentine’s Day I’m trying it her way
We disagree on whether AI will change our world for better or worse. But to bring us closer together, I’m asking AI to write her a love letter

While I'm on a gaming rant...

Bring back manuals / maps / reference sheets / posters!

Those are great additions to provide extra detail to your game and having something physical to look at while playing. Nice to display in your room too after.

Open World and/or hyper-realistic visuals contribute heavily to dev times. Games don't need these to be fun. None of my favorite games for the past decade have featured either.

IMO this is partly the case.

I also think there's a stigma around JRPGs (turn based especially) that they are long story-heavy, action-lite slogs and with a flooded market of games many choose the more fast paced titles.
Japan: Young gamers not forming same attachment to Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest due to lengthy dev time

It's a start anyway.

I am starting a studio! We are small and scrappy and have no money. Why am I doing this? Because the only ones who can protect art are the ones who value it. Disney using AI? Yuck. Netflix buying WB? Also yuck. In 10 years what is even going to be left.

"For most of you we don't need to further invade your privacy because we already know so much about you!" isn't the winning spin they think it is.
Discord is already starting to walk things back a little, so people should keep doing what they're doing (cancel Nitro, leave feedback/criticism, direct contact through support tickets/phone/email/etc)
