Something worth considering: it might be necessary to build Memory Stick emulators to keep retro Sony hardware alive one day.
Already saw this a while back with Sony Memory Sticks, which is funny for how short a lifespan those have had compared to SD cards. Some older Sony devices don't like anything but original Sony Memory Sticks, and nothing larger than 128 MB. Even a Memory Stick Pro in an adapter won't work.

We don't talk enough about the challenges caused by ever-larger SD card sizes.

Older equipment that can only use 2GB or 4GB cards? Difficult to use when the lowest capacities start at 32GB.

Want to backup an image of your single-board computer's OS? The file grows ever larger...
Got various nefarious project purposes for which SD cards would be used, but I have no need for larger than 16 GB cards. Even <8 GB cards are plenty, yet it doesn't seem so easy to find those.

Guess I can scour EBay for hoarders selling stashes or so...
