In 2022, during the anti-conscription protests in Moscow and other Russian cities, I saw videos of Russian police using similar tactics to single out and violently grab individual protestors to try and break up the cohesiveness of the group - and simply to inflict fear and violence.
at one point, i watched a cook county sheriff’s officer (who appears to be in charge) point out a priest in the crowd.
he and a couple officers then went into the crowd , dragged him into the street, and arrested him.
