where's blackberry?
I very badly want this, and I think it's further proof that a lot of the good stuff we abandoned in the last decade or two because shiny is making a clear comeback. Print is back, obviously, but also physical buttons, going to concerts without recording, and maybe even having a real-life girlfriend.

How I Made Google’s “Web” View My Default Search
Forget AI. Google just created a version of its search engine free of the extra junk it has added over the past decade-plus. You just need one URL parameter.

I dont know if this is dumb but a thought occurred to me earlier that won't go away

Art means leaving space for the audience to inject their own interpretation and meaning

Industry means needing to commoditize and capitalize every inch of the experience such that there is no space for the audience

Starting to seem that most of human history was in conflict, strife and we were fortunate enough to enjoy peace and prosperity for a few decades before it started eroding again. With much worse stakes this time

For people that feel helpless, this period is so tough but there's ways to help for anyone. Go out there support Venezuelan ppl and artists living in it as they prepare for unpredictable times

Here is a starter pack of artists with commissions or donations open as well:

When people argue that renewable energy sources are too expensive, remember that we don’t invade countries to seize wind farms and there are no solar cartels. Fossil fuels have enormous geopolitical, public health, and climate externalities.

Make sure you take some of the anger you’re feeling right now and use it to contact your officials to demand impeachment now.

It’s basically the least we can possibly do in opposition to this, which IMO makes it mandatory.

Social media is going great, in order to make a living, we’re forced to make our own free commercials for the things we’re making until the most of what we’re making is the commercials.

It’s also time to start wondering if some of these reporters are a little cooked by the bots themselves. Reporters aren’t inured to chatbot psychosis. In fact, some of them may have drank too much of the kool aid from sources selling them stuff. We’re in a new world of stupid. Adjust your credulity.

Tech wants to hold two things true: that chatbots are sentient and they are not accountable for them. The opposite should be true. Chatbots are word predicting machines and they should be accountable for them.

If you or someone you know have been a victim of the sexualized deepfakes created by Grok and would like to discuss your civil legal options, DM me or reach out on Signal at riot.95. I can connect you with excellent free legal counsel.
Unless I'm missing something, and I'm pretty sure I'm not, Twitter's AI is cranking out CSAM deepfakes, Elon Musk is making jokes about it, and nobody is doing anything to stop it or hold anyone at Twitter accountable for its creation and distribution.

Is that right?

As promised, PMG has just donated $5000 to the Palestine Children's Relief Fund.

We've made the donation to PCRF directly as our fundraiser on YouTube has now completed, but if we add the two figures together that's a total amount of $61,914.62.

Thank you so, so much to everyone who participated!

Perry: Trusted providers are being unfairly swept up in Minnesota’s fraud crackdown
As the state's new anti-fraud screening system went into effect, the Holland Center expected to receive $212,000 in payments. It instead received $22,000, David M. Perry writes. If nothing changes soo...
