Feeling my sanity slipping away as more and more (genuinely awful) stories about what Trump said or did accrues. Because:

HE PLOTTED AND ATTEMPTED TO EXECUTE A VIOLENT COUP ON LIVE TV! HE ATTMEPTED TO END THE REPUBLIC! HE'S THE BIGGEST TRAITOR TO THE CONSITUTIONAL ORDER SINCE THE CONFEDERACY!

Skip the cheap promises and campaign drama. Between the current presidential administration and the former, who did the job better?

the reason to vote for Hillary was SCOTUS and the last eight years have proven that correct in fifty foot high glowing letters

this will be true of every presidential election from now until the heat death of the universe or Dems get their shit together on the courts, whichever comes first
Like I know people hated the “think of SCOTUS” arguments in 2016 but like, the 3 picks that happened as a result of 2016 have made life MEASURABLY worse across almost every metric big and small
Supreme court justice candidates: jane johnson, career public defender, or jared jimmerson, spent his formative years hurling slurs on 4chan and its precedessors. Both are 35

This.

Also, nobody in the history of time has created an advisory counsel that they intend to listen to.
the point of saying "we're going to have a bipartisan advisory council" is to create a permission structure for R elites to oppose Trump without being quite as worried they're going to be permanently frozen out of government no matter who wins

A reminder that the election isn’t about the person at the top of the ticket as much as it is about the thousands of people they’ll put in positions of power

One candidate will give us more people like this idiot
Judge McFadden, a Trump appointee, rules that Biden violated the National Environmental Policy Act when it canceled construction of the border wall and ended Trump’s Remain In Mexico policy.

He holds that the presence of migrants damages the environment. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

UBI is proof that we do not actually care about evidence when it comes to policy, because I struggle to find a better example of something so consistently shown to be beneficial

and yet it’s never even brought up as a serious option outside of endless pilot programs that all tell us the same thing

Today I'm lecturing on the Hawley-Smoot Tariff of 1930 -- an utter disaster that worsened the Depression and led virtually everyone to reject tariffs as a viable economic policy -- and it's a little staggering that a Republican is pushing the same stupidity today.

Voters narrowly support Trump's tariff pitch, Reuters/Ipsos poll finds
Donald Trump's campaign vow to increase tariffs on imported goods, particularly from China, has the support of a narrow majority of U.S. voters, according to a new poll.

one of the reasons I think it is important that Trump loses big is that I want even the monsters pushing this stuff to believe it’s bad tactics

there needs to be a political price for stochastic terrorism and it needs to be high
notably, he is asked if he denounces the bomb threats in springfield, which he pointedly does not. i think this — along with a lot of other things — probably loses them this election, maybe big, but it'll be an incredibly ugly couple of months until we get there.

“but I’m immune to propaganda”

no you aren’t

none of us are, you aren’t special, it’ll rot your brain the same way it does everyone else

you might reframe the ideas through your own rhetoric for a while but they’ll creep in all the same
I used to be mutuals with a number of center left folk on Twitter who not only adamantly refused to leave but absolutely insisted that paying for a blue check is fine and they would never ever change how they post.

Many of them are posting soft right-wing shit now.

I do think that the lesson of the pandemic recovery - that high inflation is going to get you much more criticism than high unemployment - is going to be one we deeply regret learning the next time that choice comes along
lot of leftists non explicitly stated their preference is clintonism boost the middle class low inflation fuck the poors
the fact that the Biden economic record was a refutation of austerity and shows a tight labor market leads to high growth is exactly why there was a concerted propaganda campaign in the media against it. many even on the left were happy to play along with it, frustratingly!

Trump's DOJ won't drag their feet for four years. They'll have every judge, prosecutor, journalist, and jury member who went against him in jail by the end of January.

This is bullshit. All the info comes from the IBA, which lost its IOC credentials due to corruption. IBA said they tested Khelif's chromosomes, then said no actually it was testosterone, then said no it was something else, then claimed it was WADA certified which WADA denied.
