At the risk of sounding old as shit, this is some real "good ol' days" energy
You guys would jump on and off the podcast in real time just to go make posts for the site, sometimes it felt like it was a 3 way race between you all to find the best gag+news combination for each article. So it's not surprising you would forget some. 😂

Calling video game industry folks! You know the Strong Museum of Play, right? The museum that understands us & is documenting OUR history?

Federal budget shenanigans have them in a surprise $500K hole.

If you're able to support them, now's the time. Here's the link: www.museumofplay.org/support/
Strong Museum of Play faces $500,000 shortfall after losing federal grants for new exhibit, preservation efforts
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Strong National Museum of Play has learned two of its federal grants have been terminated and it’s hoping private donors will step up to fill the gap.  A promised $400,000 grant ...

For years, I hoped NPR, NYTimes, or the ghost of Gimlet would make a video game podcast. A weekly, hour-long audio magazine with essays, interviews, tight editing, and a cheeky sense of humor.

Nobody made the show I wanted to hear.
So, I made it myself.

Here's the first episode of Post Games.

Back in the day Polygon was the site that made me the most mad (because they routinely published stories I was insanely jealous of.)

I'm gonna make a list of the ones that I remember off the top. (It'll be skewed old because I'm out of da game)

I really appreciate all the kind things people are saying to me and everyone else from Polygon today. While I only got to have my dream job for a few months, I don't regret it for a second.

As of this morning, I no longer have a job at Polygon. If you know of anyone looking for writers — guides or otherwise — please let me know. And please, please, please keep an eye out for all of my immensely talented colleagues who are in the same situation.

14 years ago I pitched what would become Polygon to a startup called Sports Blogs Inc on the unfurnished third floor of a DC townhome. I held a laptop on my knees and went through a deck.

Today that same company -- now called Vox Media -- sold Polygon to Valnet.
