Kirk Herbstreit lambasted Alabama for being "embarrassing" in their 38-3 loss to Indiana. If he's looking for someone to blame for why the three-loss Tide were there to begin with, he should start with... Kirk Herbstreit. bit.ly/3LgTe9G

Confession: Would love to see the Bills win the Super Bowl if the Pats don’t. Awesome fans, really enjoyed covering a game there this year. And Josh Allen seems like a genuinely good guy.

This is really interesting. There have been several plays this season in which Maye made a perfect, high-degree-of-difficulty throw that also required the reliever to make a spectacular catch.
There are, to me, two explanations for the Pats having 3 WR in the top 6 of Catch Rate over Expectation:

1) Boutte, Diggs, and Hollins are all stars/having spectacular seasons
2) The QB throwing the ball to them is a star/having a spectacular season

The latter seems more plausible to me.
And maybe the receivers are also just good?

Patriots’ Week 2 win over the Dolphins was the start of a memorable season. What will Week 18 bring? - The Boston Globe
It’s fitting that the Patriots wrap up their remarkable regular-season against the Dolphins, against whom they first showed flashes of excellence way back in Week 2.

A couple of minutes ago Siobhan loudly clanked some pans in the kitchen. At that very moment, on my TV, the entire Alabama offense stood up at the line of scrimmage and looked in the direction of the noise. It was the most delightful thing I've ever seen in my life

Magic Johnson was the grand marshal of the Rose Parade today, and as someone who remembers his November 1991 HIV announcement: if you had told anybody that day that he would be alive and healthy 34+ years later, I don't think they would have believed you. Medicine and research—they work.

“Can’t believe NYC elected a Muslim as mayor.”

In truth—a Black American Christian woman swearing in a Ugandan American Muslim of South Asian ethnicity as his Syrian American wife holds the Qurans he swears in on, all while standing on the steps of a subway station—is the most NYC thing imaginable.

Way ahead of you.
I want 2026 to be the year of making use of AI socially unacceptable. Every time your pal says they asked ChatGTP, every time your dad sends some you some slop image - make it clear that you think it’s dogshit, that you respect them less for their use of it, and that they shouldn’t do it again
yes, AI is being used to make CSAM and revenge porn and it’s telling people to kill themselves & their loved ones and it’s destroying the environment and it’s infecting every creative field but hey, you gotta admit, it sure helps me make my grocery list
