In this study of 13,592 participants-childhood loneliness was associated with cognitive decline & risk of #dementia in adulthood, even in the absence of adult loneliness.
There is a need for interventions for childhood loneliness to promote cognitive health across the lifespan. #slpeeps #prevention

#Sleep health is poor in acute inpatient #rehabilitation after #stroke but improves over time. Improved sleep quality was associated w/ ⬇️ overnight activity & ⬆️ heart rate. Poor initial sleep quality & cognitive status were associated w/ ⬆️ overnight disruptions.

Our 1st Summer SLP #BrainHealth Program is a wrap! Group participants, students, and interpreters shared memories in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, sang together, and laughed. Can't wait to teach this course and run its community program again next summer! #cognition #communityengagement
