Trump pardoned a billionaire who had pledged to illegally route foreign money into U.S. elections as part of a scheme to bribe Puerto Rico’s governor — after the billionaire's daughter gave $3.5M to Trump's super PAC.

But the facts point to another legal violation. campaignlegal.org/update/seeki...

Thousands of CEOs just admitted AI had no impact on employment or productivity—and it has economists resurrecting a paradox from 40 years ago | Fortune
In the 1980s, economist Robert Solow made an observation that reminded economists of today’s AI boom: “You can see the computer age everywhere but in the productivity statistics.”

I don't think "invading a country, kidnapping its President, then stealing its oil" is what I would call "diplomacy."

But perhaps I'm not a political science expert like some folks.
Chris Wright on seized Venezuelan oil: "We've sold about $1 billion of oil so far. We've recently signed agreements to sell about another $5 billion in the next several months. So you're talking well north of $10 billion a year ... this is way out of the box, groundbreaking Trump diplomacy."

There are so many reasons these days where I’m feeling like this focus on generative AI might be one of the worst mistakes in recent human history. Whatever perceived value it could provide isn’t worth the damage it’s doing in so many areas.

All of these things, like the Grandma on your phone, are designed to blackmail you forever. Once you say yes to 'keeping a memory alive' there's no way you can stop unless you are ok with killing your loved one.
Meta has patented AI that can run a dead person's account, continuing to post and chat on their behalf

It can message and video call by replicating a user's online behavior using their past data

Every time your 5 year old Windows install says "let's finish setting up your PC" to try to trick you into using Edge, Bing, OneDrive, Defender and Microsoft Backup and instead of doing that it "recommends" you shout "fuck off!" and stick another nail in the Satya Nadella voodoo doll for that floor.
Can you think of examples where people use technologies differently from what the developers intended, whether unintentionally or as an act of resistance?

The technology isn't improving and the problems with it are inherent in how it works, so the idea that it doesn't work yet but will in 3 years is completely delusional.
