Most people don’t know this: Heat pumps REDUCE gas consumption even if running 100% on electricity from a gas fired power plant.

It is so embarrassing that it has taken nearly a decade for a British minister to say this, a statement of the absolute bloody obvious

BREAKING: Nigel Farage calls for an end to working from home and the focus on work-life balance

The most ridiculous boat on the Grand Union Canal. A help for heroes flag, 3 remembrance poppies, St George's flag, a 'Stop the Boats' union flag (on a small boat..), a Racists UK flag - sorry, I mean Reform UK and randomly two sets of police lights. How very classy...

Another thing many underestimate is the sheer rage and the depth of the misinformation they're facing. Much right populism is emotional and psychological, a deep phenomenon which may not be particularly amenable to policy. At its simplest it's a turning outwards of insoluble frustration. (1/3)

Winter sport needs snow-not fossil fuels

Eni, one of the world’s biggest oil and gas corporations, is using the Winter Olympics to greenwash its fossil-fuelled destruction

Either you're happy for people to be killed and injured to save you a couple of minutes on your journey, or you're not. The evidence that LTNs and 20mph zones save lives is overwhelming.

Please spread this far and wide, as stories don't get much bigger than this. When the government blocks even the intelligence services from telling us we're heading for environmental catastrophe, you know we have a problem. A very big problem.
Thank you.

It took an FOI request to bring this national security assessment to light. For ‘doomsayers’ like us, it is the ultimate vindication, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

Latest evidence that UK Treasury has one rule for roads, another for public transport 🛣️⚖️🚋

Leeds tram delayed for a business case, meanwhile business case delayed to get building Lower Thames Crossing.

Ministers betting £billions on wrong horse 💸🎠
'you’d think that before ministers committed £3.1 billion of taxpayer’s money and started early construction works, they might have bothered to produce a full business case for the (LTC) link, instead of opting to wait until 2028.' - Alistair Osborne @thetimes.com www.thetimes.com/business/com...

Should we ban the over 65s from social media?

The government are considering banning the elderly from social media as their brains haven't properly developed. But is a ban a step too far?

He has been very clear that Nigel Farage wants to initiate racist terror squads snatching foreign-looking teenagers off the streets here in Britain too. It boggles my mind the free ride Reform gets in the media despite saying yes they want a UK ICE!!
This is 10th-grader Arnoldo Bazan.

A citizen.

Immigration agents grabbed him and put him in a chokehold.

"We're from the United States bro!' he screamed.

Agents took and sold his phone

And when he finally got home hours later, his shirt was ripped, he neck had angry, red welts, and he sobbed.

Travelling on HS1 to the channel tunnel you do wonder how much of HS1 would have been built these days, probably only London-Ebbsfleet. Ridiculous that we haven't built a high speed network across the whole of GB.

Met Line not working, lucky I live in a town where I can jump on a hire bike to get to the mainline station to head into north London, then a couple of London buses. However, Superloop buses may be limited stop but are definitely not express. No continuous bus lanes nor signal priority.

Absolutely.

Puts me in mind of this hard-hitting ad from 'Straya from a while ago:

"What's an acceptable number of [road deaths]?"

"Acceptable? Seventy, maybe."

"[Speaks into radio] Can you send 70 people, please? This is what 70 people looks like."

"That's my family."
