Thought I'd put this out there as I don't have many options left. Are there any Oregon lawyers who might be willing to help my mom? she's on disability it's essentially a DV issue & the abuser is using the system meant to protect her against her. Please, she really needs help. Thanks.

Excellent documentation from Pro Publica of how dishonest Trump's claims of "war-torn Portland" are. The coordination of the lies with the Rupert Murdoch media empire is also striking.
📽️ WATCH: We reviewed 700+ videos, hours of footage from ICE protesters and counterprotesters in Portland.

Trump justified the deployment of National Guard troops by calling the city "War ravaged," with an ICE office under siege. That's not what we found.

"Beyond being the 24th consecutive grant of emergency relief to the Trump administration, the cryptic ruling in Orr is a reminder of just how bankrupt the Court’s proffered justifications are in these cases—both legally and in other ways, too."

Me on today's ugly #SCOTUS ruling in Trump v. Orr:
189. The Breezy Inequity of Trump v. Orr
The Supreme Court's latest grant of emergency relief to the Trump administration illustrates in technicolor the direct (and ugly) consequences of the two different ways it keeps messing up "equity."

I'm aware of at least 2 stores that had offered struggling customers a discount, then withdrew it after receiving this email

The AP does exactly what professional journalists are supposed to do: identify and describe some of the 60 plus persons summarily executed by Trump and Hegseth. One was a fisherman struggling to eke out a living on $100 a month. Another was a career criminal. A third was a former military cadet.
Trump has accused boat crews of being narco-terrorists. The truth, AP found, is more nuanced

The Trump-Bukele deal reads like a pact between two dictators: torture them all you like, and we'll pay you for it.
So the terms we had Bukele agree to were basically “no lawyers, no abortions.”

No mention about keeping them safe or not torturing them.

So what's the impact of Trump's deployment of troops to DC on violent crime? None. It was way down before the deployment. And that has leveled off. But the parks are cleaner now with all the extra trash collection.
Shootings in DC are still down substantially from where they were during the worst part of 2023, but are roughly where they were pre-deployment right now.
