Found the tweet that Joyce Carol Oates bodied Elon Musk with and it's so beautiful in its eloquent, simple take down. So much so he's crashing out trying to prove he reads books now. Put this in the Louvre.

Voters who are panicked about rising health care costs have already become the face of the Democrats’ 2026 midterm campaign in North Carolina.

“It’s seriously horrifying,” said resident Lea Charlton, who has had several strokes in the last few months.

The 250th anniversary of the American Revolution is an occasion to question whether the people really do rule, and whether the law is still king. But under the threat of censorship, some civic institutions are afraid to ask.

It’s wild how MAGA falls in love with people like nepo baby developer Bill Pulte, who was born on 3rd base and thinks he hit a triple, because he investigated Schiff, then he rolls out a plan for a lifetime of debt slavery with 50-year mortgages and they are somehow surprised.

Yeah, there’s nothing special about manufacturing jobs.

It’s mostly unionized manufacturing shops that people are thinking about when they think of good jobs. Before the unions they were among the worst jobs humans had ever been asked to do.

The key is unionization, regardless of sector.
In Opinion | The first step toward building a good jobs agenda requires officials thinking about economic development “to get over their manufacturing fetishism,” Dani Rodrik writes.
Opinion | What Even Is a ‘Good’ Job?
It starts with abandoning the fetish over manufacturing.

Iconic of the folks at CAHN at they, with far fewer resources, identified 18 people who were at this neo-Nazi event in B.C. -- while CBC, with more staff and far more resources, unmasked two.

CAHN really are the GOATs at this work.
3/ We got photos of all of them and got to work finding their names. CBC verified our identifications and added two. By bringing in the CBC, we were able to reach a much larger audience to talk about the threat of white nationalism in Canada.

Hassett: "I think it's back on the table to think about what to do with those tariff revenues. I'm sure the president will discuss with congressional leaders whether because of all of the extra tax revenue, there is more room to get checks back to people."

I heard from a bunch of federal employees last night and this morning. They aren't happy.

This is far better, and how it should be done. You made them hold a vote. That is the justification.

We play politics from there. Activists threaten to shut down again in February and continue growing No Kings. Leadership uses that leverage to negotiate.

It’s not complicated. Don’t be Angus King.
Shaheen: "We've heard from a number of our colleagues on the other side of the aisle that they're willing to come to the table, they're willing to work with us once the govt is open to get this done. We've heard the same thing from the White House. So now we'll see if they're really gonna work w/us"

I don’t have any real desire to go after these people, but if they are going to be idiots about how they justify reopening the government that could change.

Republicans agreed to hold a vote. That’s your justification. After they hold it we will decide on a path forward, etc.
