The last mass deportation wave came in the early part of the 20th Century. Over a million US Citizens with Mexican and Latino ancestry were removed. I wonder how many of their descendants are now among those being turned away as "illegals."
At the same time, we should have a conversation about what happened to the people living in the half of Mexico the US annexed in 1848 and the origins of the border patrol.

wrt to some of the replies to this post, part of why the media has “moved on” is because it has become extraordinarily difficult to document ICE activity on the ground, outside of them arresting citizens.

If anything, the reports on the ground are talking about escalation by the administration.

Fair enough, we need to keep focused and keep pushing back.

One of the richest men in the world fired them from the paper and didn’t even pay to ensure they got home.

We need to recruit quality candidates to run everywhere, no matter what the odds may seem to be.

We will also need to raise more money and generally be prepared to curb stomp the Republican Party in November.
According to the Louisiana Democratic Party, Chasity Martinez got outpsent by a 3-to-1 margin in tonight's election yet still turned in a 37-point overperformance—and a victory.
Congratulations to Chasity Verret Martinez on her election to represent House District 60.

She was outspent 3-to-1 and still won. This is what happens when grassroots Democrats show up and organize.

Proud of this win and excited to keep building power together. #LaDemos
