QPF fields fairly similar but pretty big differences between the GFS and ECMWF aloft (though euro moving a bit toward this GFS idea). GFS closes off 850 circulation south of SNE establishing the ccb and prolonging the event - classic SNE storm. Everything else more of a big WAA thump.

Pockets of light rain and snow today...a steady/heavier snow tonight. Generally 2-5 or 2-6 inches around the area. Not a major deal given nighttime and the holiday tomorrow. capecodweather.net/2026/01/snow...

Feel like it’s coming down to this or civil war. Completely shut down the economy
This is actually how to end all of this… everybody who cares, stops.
Everybody should call in sick. Shut the air down. Hell, shut the met offices down.

Folks -- this is for our healthcare. It's all we got. Short term pains lead to long term gains.

WSJ investigation: In the past 6 months ICE agents have fired at vehicles 13 times, leading to:

* 8 people shot
* 5 of which were U.S. citizens
* 2 died
* no victims drew a weapon

The playbook: Agents box in a vehicle, block attempts to flee, then fire

It's snowing again. Hyannis 1/2 mile visibility / moderate snow. Pretty good run here over the last few weeks, especially for this (early) time of winter.

Astonishing feat!
US will break its record for the warmest Christmas by ~5°F! That’s remarkable.
Anomalies are up to +40°F in the nation’s middle and as you can see the US has the warmest air - relative to average - in the World!

Cold front is crossing the area from N to S...going to turn much colder later this evening, with chilly air lingering into the weekend. Stuck in the 20s tomorrow. Maybe some passing ocean effect flurries and snow showers around as well.

Despite a much warmer air mass… “good” conditions for black ice first thing Thur AM on area roads. winds go calm near dawn and may allow temps to / a bit below / freezing - after a mostly mild night with melting snow and damp roads from the recent cold. Use caution early tomorrow AM
