Do you appreciate @nws.noaa.gov's posts on Bluesky?

Did you know that this account is a pilot program that may or may not be continued and even expanded to NWS field offices?

NWS is soliciting comments here! www.surveymonkey.com/r/PrototypeN...

With the potential for impactful wintry weather on the rise for the end of the week for many of you, it's wise to ask: Are you prepared for a winter storm? If the forecast calls for winter weather in YOUR area, begin preparing NOW. Don’t wait until the last minute. weather.gov/safety/winter-before

There are increasing chances for snow and ice from the southern Plains to the Mid-Atlantic late this week and into the weekend. There is still plenty of uncertainty in the forecast, which will evolve in the coming days, so stay up to date on the latest at weather.gov.

That’s a nice spin on the third warmest year on record only behind the last two years.

After reading this… Sounds more like the developer of an eight year old game trying to create relevance. Email is very routine in kids’ schooling now from what I’ve seen from my daughter. One complaint the developer had was that emails weren’t formatted nicely. They’re emailing a bot, not people

A friend in Minneapolis just sent me this video. Looks like thousands have come together for a vigil after an ICE agent shot and killed 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good. This was my neighborhood for several years before coming to Portland.

A reminder that you are free to look at a video online, decide what it means, and proclaim that to anyone who'll listen. The NYT, NPR, CNN and all other journalists can't do that, out of professional responsibility and their own vulnerability at this moment. Give the journalists time to work.

I love Misery. The book and the movie (though to a lesser extent). Casting James Caan as Paul Sheldon was odd to me though.

I don’t like that we’re calling him “Elmo.” I understand that it’s meant to be diminutive, but c’mon. Elmo proper deserves better than that.
If Elmo is concerned about people dying in fires, perhaps he should FIX THE FUCKING DOORS ON HIS FUCKING CARS, which continue to incinerate their occupants SIX YEARS after the problem first became apparent - all because Musk thinks electric-powered doors are "cool."
