I am a 28 year old transgender woman living in the United States. I served in the Army Reserve for six years and most recently worked as a licensed stock broker for two years. I have a BA in Criminal Justice. Aspiring fiction writer.
you consider your business settled? fuck that!! every other trans person in the US could have told you this shocking revelation that the right doesnt want to compromise on this issue. you beat the drum of a centrist narrative and profited greatly off doing so. it harmed trans people.
Go fuck yourself

What’s wild is the number of people seeing this who think either I’m trans or I must have some personal or romantic stake in this. None of that is true. I simply understand the concept of right and wrong and the moral abhorrence of refusing to defend the persecuted
You want my PA vote? Pick anyone but Newsom. We can disagree on pizza toppings, we cannot disagree on whether the trans community deserves to exist in public
Prepare yourself for a Dem nominee (him or somebody else) with whom you don’t agree on everything (Gaza, trans issues, death penalty). You have three years to get the fuck over it because anyone the Dems offer up is better than this or something like this.

It is easy to feel this way but I truly think, for trans writers at least, writing books now is urgent. Write good books about your friends, get them printed, get them widely distributed, get them in the world. There has never before been an opportunity like the one we currently possess to do this.
is there anything more pointless right now that writing a book? feels that way to me

even any small amount of money can keep trans journalism alive! these writers are struggling to buy food while full time reporting on trans people being systematically trampled in the political arena, its important, please support them if you can!
every time itch lies, a trans journalist thrives! I am going to keep using your replies to fundraise for more journalism!

did you know you can also support us with a monthly membership at our website? this helps us have predictable income and stability!

god neoliberalism sucks so bad dude look at this shit
“Why would I do a good thing unless there’s something in it for ME??”

If you're a writer, you shouldn't wish to skip ahead to the moment where you're a published well-known author. What you should be jealous of is the day to day experience of building that story from scratch. That brick by brick act of creation is the meat and substance of being an artist. Embrace it!

I don't use the word deadname personally. I think it mythologizes and makes important something that really isn't that important to me. I just call it my old name, its not a big deal, im not afraid of it, when my parents slip up and call me it its totally fine -- they called me that for a childhood.

This has to stop. The NYTimes is actively trying to stop the Democrats from learning any actual lessons on how to win elections. Exit surveys at the polls showed it’s not a vote deciding issue for basically anyone. This is little more than a comforting fantasy that the party is doing fine otherwise.

The Democrat Party Establishment is welcome to argue that going for populist leftwing policies is a bad idea if they want to, but the argument that these are fringe, unpopular beliefs just isn't true. The donor class of the democrat party is why we are not running on these policies to great effect!

i wonder if conservatives watched Andor and thought that the Empire represents annoying leftists on twitter with no actual political power

"Don't your want to fight these bastards for real?" was the best moment of television I have seen in a very very long time. Stellan Skarsgard nailed Luthen
Feel like "Don't you want to fight these bastards for real?" would be a good campaign slogan for a primarily challenger to a Democratic incumbent.

Begging everyone to genuinely read this and really process it and think about what more you can do personally. We have to care about everyone and push back everywhere we can. if just 4% of the US population really truly pushed back hard we could put a stop to a whole lot of this. be in that 4%!

Wonder how much that costs the US per alligator as we kick 15 million people off medicare and medicaid? Just because he genuinely wants to be a villan from a corny movie that owns alligators just in the hope they get to bite off the legs of one of his groups he wants to punish. Horrible
just found out that allogator alcatraz isn’t just a stupid name but that they’re actually putting alligators around the concentration camp so if people try to escape they’ll get eaten alive by alligators. genuinely deeply evil shit

I am very excited by Zohran Mamdani's primary win in New York, it demonstrates a few important things to be true.
1 - Electoral outcomes normally seen as unlikely can happen if demographics turn out to vote that usually don't. Voter turnout for ages 25-34 was almost 40% higher than 2021. 🧵
