Oh, I didn't know that, thank you for adding that important context. That actually makes the most sense, conservative families in blue states would be the ones filing these lawsuites!

The 0.03% statistic is heartening but it feels like she cherry picked one of the blue-est states in the country. We should be clear-eyed on this and talk about what % of people are opting out in deep red states and what impact that can have.

now add "the spotify playlist was trans" to the end of the list lol

not to be crazy and hyperbolic but free speech is dead in this country

I mean... not really? They dont believe in it as a valid gender identity, but they're happy to categorize it as a mental illness/radicalized political group and then persecute us. They don't really have to admit trans people are valid to discriminate against us

I think it is very important and not pointless at all. FWIW. its the digital age, books cant be burned anymore truly with 1000s of copies saved to computers worldwide, your message or story can echo for generations

if the voting public had the perfect rationality and foresight to stop this threat there wouldve been no trump 2016 or 2024. that just isnt the electorate we have to work with in the US period. so the ppl making 6 figures as political strategists needed to do better
August 13, 2025 at 7:00 PM
and somehow we had no message on affordability crisis or even acknowleding the economy isnt working for people. we accepted the oppositions framing on huge issues like immigration which is always a losing proposition. we conceded tons of ground on key issues just to be wishy washy.
August 13, 2025 at 6:50 PM
as usual we're blaming voters who behaved like they typically do and as-expected, instead of blaming the people who are supposed to come up with the best possible strategy. our biden-harris ticket knelt at Netanyahu's feet and did tons of electorally unpopular stuff and he still endorsed trump

in general i agree we need to stop thinking of R voters as oblivious hicks who do not understand the implications of their votes, its useful to understand their priorities and how their priorities match up to what Rs actually do with their electoral power
August 13, 2025 at 6:14 PM
there is a tremendous amalgamation of people with genuine ill intent, useful idiots, well meaning people who are duped by heavy propaganda, apathetic nonvoters (due to propaganda or D's not being meaningfully progressive enough) and all of those things together cause R electoral victory to happen
August 13, 2025 at 6:13 PM
I think this is an important thing to understand, but its also good to not see people who vote R as a monolith. A lot of people do vote R because they want to end no fault divorce or want to see immigrants suffer. I think other people vote R because they genuinely think abortion is murder in example

you're right, and the last 6 months have shown us everything is on the table, so it is possible. they're clearly projecting their intent. calling HRT "chemical mutilation" on the day 1 executive order clearly signals HRT ban for all ages is on the wishlist, too. all is at stake for us

That is correct. I am pretty sure the UCMJ is very explicit about what is required for a less than honorable or dishonorable discharge. The Executive randomly deciding to discriminate against your minority group certainly doesn't count, because there is no misconduct.
August 7, 2025 at 10:26 PM
its likely enough this loses in court and SCOTUS doesnt bother to hear and overturn it. SCOTUS has to be strategic about what cases it takes and fucking over a tiny fraction of a tiny fraction of the population isnt going to be a priority.

the next Democrat president needs to reinstate ALL these service members, give them back pay for the years they were wrongfully separated, and then give them their 20 year full pension!
August 7, 2025 at 10:23 PM
true, but an executive order calling being trans 'dishonorable' is a very different thing than slapping someone with a 'dishonorable discharge', they could try to make the separations less than honorable but it would be a steep battle to justify that
August 7, 2025 at 10:22 PM
lol, on what grounds? they did everything by the book and transitioned when it was allowed. now the law is changed and their class of people is kicked out purely on discrimination. you cant call that less than honorable discharge or deny owed retirement pay.
