I love GIFs, emojis, rituals, elegant words, a habitable planet, books, scripted TV, history podcasts & well-designed everything.

I ask “what?” a lot.

There are alternative that don’t jeopardize the health of the millworkers & installers. If you insist on quartz, ask for low silica or ZERO silica options - many are now made with lots of recycled glass.

Jamaica’s national dish is ackee + saltfish 🇯🇲

The saltfish is strips of cod salted and air dried for low maintenance protein, and ackee is a fruit with poisonous filaments that can kill you if not prepared properly, so colonizers refused to eat both. Nowhere else chooses to eat ackee 😏

Just making that connection gave me the chills. That storyline was traumatic af.

Absolutely terrible timing but.. we’ll be needing a new washer & dryer set.

Our current ones are ancient (but ginormous capacity & very energy efficient), and the manufacturer doesn’t make the parts necessary anymore.
