Jean-Cannes-Noux, my nom de plume, is a play on the old Jamaican tradition of Jonkanoo (Junkanoo, John Canoe, John Kanu) - one of my favorite cultural “collective joy” celebrations, as discussed in the book DANCING IN THE STREETS.
No joke, these are very long & dense stories, and Rosamund does a great job with voices, tone, volume.. Well worth it.

My sole goal for 2026 is to document some of my random life experiences & stories (like below) for the kid.
True story: I witnessed a carjacking where the thieves became frustrated and angry with the leader, as they had to leave the getaway car they were trying to steal because it was a stick shift.
I made sure I knew how to drive a manual transmission after that incident.
