Weird to be commemorating the 250th anniversary of the Am Rev while living under a government that has a) sent armed troops to occupy cities perceived to be too rebellious, b) rendered largely irrelevant the representative branch of government, and c) claimed imperial right to rule other countries.

I've had to remove a lot of ego from this dissertation process. My chair will rip something to shreds and if I take it personally I would get nothing done ever.

I don't believe in magic, but the Crock-Pot is the closest thing we have to it. You throw in meat, veggies, herbs, and some type of liquid, turn it on, and when you come back eight or more hours later, beautiful things happen.
