Designer folks, what are you using these days for online portfolios?

My portfolio site has been down for a few years and I need to get a new one up and running. Recommendations are welcome! #designportfolio #halp

Well I did a stupid and got scammed buying something online. I've repeatedly asked for my money back but there was no delivery (even though it showed as being delivered on the tracking app) and no invoice and I can't find the website that I ordered from. It was a table-top drawing easel. Sigh.

Well heavens, I have not been writing much here. Here's a photo of Goose after he's had a big supper. Life is beautiful and exhausting, complicated and scary, joyous and mundane, like how it normally is for all of us.

I use @inaturalist.bsky.social for posting all.of my plant, mushroom and insect observations. Citizen science is awesome and their dataset is the most comprehensive species catalogue out there BECAUSE so many regular folks take photos and upload them to their app. Two of my recent pics:

We heard the rumors. Maybe president panican will declare martial law, maybe he won’t. But do you think this clown car of incompetent sycophantic signal leakers can keep all 300 million of us down? Absolutely not. We will not comply. Here’s some advice from Oliver Kornetzke. Let’s get weird.

I have to constantly wrestle with my grief over the life I'm not able to live, the life I thought I would be able to have which my chronic illness has taken from me. It's really fucking hard. This is one of the reasons I have a trauma counsellor. #meneires #chronicillness

Gardeners in the Lower Mainland of BC looking for locally adapted seeds, check out the Steves Family seed store at their farm gate in Steveston. #buylocal
We have seeds for sale at our farm gate. We were Western Canada's first seed company. We have been growing, saving, and selling locally adapted, organic, vegetable seeds since 1888. Steveston Stock and Seed Farm, 2871 Steveston Highway, by the west dyke.

The coolest thing I’ve seen today is that a bunch of volunteer public health professionals and developers have restored the CDC website from before January 20th 2025.

This differs from an archive in that they want to rebuild the links between pages and replicate the full website.

Exactly. And then it can be extended for a week, two weeks and longer while people get used to/return to supporting local businesses and farmers and increasing local food security.
Here is the thing naysayers fail to understand: this is practice. Everybody gets together and throws sand in the gears of fascism for one day. Nobody has ever suggested that this is going to be the single day that changes everything. But stuff like this helps ppl organize+ prepare for larger actions

Beautiful red rabbit by Martha Rich. Be like the red rabbit! I feel it's important to support our American friends fighting fascism and I will also not buy anything Feb 28th.

I went into a thrift store to get baby onesies for my cat to wear, so he doesn't keep licking a hot spot on his elbow. And then I found these fish and owl soup mugs! Also two onesies for a buck each. #thriftstoresamirite

Farmers had paintings of their animals commissioned centuries ago and always wanted them painted real chunky. I like the idea of some farmer having people round, pointing at a painting and saying "yeah I had that done, that's my actual pig, he's the fattest guy".

Prepping and stockpiling food and other resources is something your wealthy privilege enables you to do. Stronger, more resilient communities and local food security lift all of us up. When your last tin of beans runs out, what are you going to do?
