I started taking anti-anxiety meds in October, 2021.

I have taken my meds faithfully EVERY SINGLE DAY since then.

Until yesterday. Just plain forgot.

I am so pissed. I was almost at FOUR YEARS without missing a single day!

So here's the reminder that I could have used yesterday: take your meds!

1. Today, SCOTUS allowed for bans on trans care in a devastating, though limited, ruling in Skrmetti.

It ruled discrimination against gender dysphoria is not trans discrimination, and used the same rationale used by VA to defend its interracial marriage ban.

Today, SCOTUS released its ruling on Skrmetti, allowing Tennessee to ban transgender healthcare. The ruling was both devastating and limited, leaving many fights unsettled.

The NYT was cited in the Supreme Court ruling used to strip trans people of healthcare. This is EXACTLY WHY the “just asking questions” crowd of centrist edgelord journalists are dangerous. They launder transphobia through faux neutral “debate” and act like it’s intellectual curiosity

New in PN: Judge rules that anti-woke is just racism

“'I’ve never seen a record where racial discrimination was so palpable,' Judge Young fumed. 'I’ve sat on this bench now for 40 years. I’ve never seen government racial discrimination like this.'

*More of this, please*"

MASSIVE good news for trans people in the United States.

A federal judge has just granted class action status to transgender people looking to update their passports.

This means that very shorty, the window will open to update your passports with the correct gender marker.

Keep masking. I still wear at least an N95 (more often an N99) whenever I go out. I also bought two air purifiers for my apartment and will be buying others as my partner and I get settled into life together.
COVID is still around, folks. Masking helps.

They have nicknamed this one “razor blade throat” which sounds less than pleasant (though you should always try to be avoid any strain - they can all be deadly or disabling).
"NB.1.8.1 is estimated to account for 37 percent of cases in the US. That's up from 15 percent two weeks ago." In other words, cases of the new mutation have more than doubled in two weeks.

Transphobia is never ok. Even against problematic transgender women.

This goes for cis and trans people.

I promise that pedaling transphobia will not make things better for the trans people in your life you care about.

I don’t know what’s more upsetting: that Flo’s character on Grey’s isn’t a doctor or that she has a thing for goddamn Owen of all people. I had a GA short all planned out for Flo’s character being a doctor and now she’s not one AND likes OWEN?

Rude.

It could have been so much cooler!

I've written about this elsewhere, but the longer you're on Substack the harder it is to move. I've been on Beehiiv for a year now and I'm really happy I made the switch. The "growth" Substack is showing you is absolutely not real and you will find that out very quick when you leave the network!
substack just announced a new enterprise media offering (whatever that means) in partnership with bari weiss’ website “because of its commitment to pursuing high-integrity journalism.”

if you’re still publishing there, it’s time to get the fuck out.

I miss #Sanvers.

Thinking about getting Earth Seven written and finished by the end of the year. I've got a few hundred words and a decent idea for this Earth, I think. Now if only I can find the time and/or energy...

The military has already had severe issues with recruitment. Ripping out and removing 15k active duty service members would severely hurt morale and readiness. This is what you'd do if you want to cripple the US military.

This is why we beg you to care about safe spaces. Beg disability orgs to implement clean air and masking.

We’ve been shut out of society. We’re much higher risk. We deserve inclusion.
