I'm less harsh in one way, and more in another.
GRRM doesn't owe me any more books, and if he lost interest that really is his business. I can't imagine what it takes to write books like this and if the fire went out, it went out.

When I was a teen, I considered Blondie top 40 junk. But it was catchy and fine.
I didn't appreciate the pop geniuses that they were until later. Young me was dumb.
(I also thought Jack Kirby was crazy overrated. Like I said, dumb.)

It's definitely not my favourite album, nor do I think it the "best" album for whatever "best" means... but I absolutely couldn't argue with anyone who did say it was the best album ever. Just holy shit what a great record, you know?

Most everyone was horrified by Kristi Noem bragging about callously killing a dog. But she included that anecdote as a type of signaling that she was willing to be a monster, and it helped get her the job she has now where she continues to be a monster.

I think there is underlying ideology behind what they claim to believe. Fundamentally, they want to preserve white male dominance in society. They only claim to want small gov't in that they want to dismantle the various ways it enforces equality within society

When selecting a whole album to play I usually avoid Sgt Pepper because of its reputation and ubiquity; I look for something a bit different. But I put in on a couple days ago and damn if it isn't a great album.
Tonight's utterly basic opinion, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is such a fucking good album. I listen The Beatles more as individual tracks than albums but I love this one, my dad and me and being in my late teens and feeling a lot of things were about to begin are in this one.
