As someone who is this guy's age I can tell you 100% that if you were into Pixies, Nirvana, 120 Minutes stuff, etc. but didn't like the Beatles you had to have worked hard to contort yourself into that special little box. Your enemy, if you absolutely needed one, was hair metal. GTFO here with this.

What a shocker.
THREAD: Judge Ellis is the first federal judge to review extensive body cam video of DHS's actions in Chicago. She finds that DHS *repeatedly* misled the public and made claims that were disproven by agents' own videos.

I'll go through some of the most egregious ones here.

And while you can get to something close to objective truth by taking the average of several different subjective, biased, attempts to tell ths truth, you can't get there by taking the average of truth and falsehood.

The headlines today ought to be "GOP cuts medical subsidies for millions by threatening to starve poor people" and anything about Democrats is just disagreement about opposition strategies that were always going to be limited in usefulness.

Vince Gilligan’s new show Pluribus has a great, resonant premise and lots of nifty twists, but also, and I cannot stress this enough, Rhea Seehorn gets to swear a lot.

It's another all-timer, IMHO.

I always enjoy the podcast but this one was in the upper tiers for me.
500 Songs stays winning, once again @andrewhickey.500songs.com spends an hour on a series of stories seemingly completely unrelated to the episode's subject (Plastics! Jazz! Charlie Brown!) before things suddenly snapping into place. Risky but extraordinarily effective narrative structure.

I am taking particular pleasure in the complete collapse of trans-as-unbeatable-wedge-issue narrative this morning. It might be an 80-20 issue in voters minds, but it has to be on voters minds to matter. The results in VA demonstrate that it is very much not on voters minds.

After seeing the VA Gov election results, I really hope all those "throw trans people under the bus" slimeballs slither back under their rocks.

WHAT REPUBLICANS NEED TO DO TO RECLAIM THEIR FUCKING SOULS IS TO STOP DOING THAT.

Where is THAT column?

The solution to one party saying they hate half of America isn't the other party seeking common ground with that party. It's the other party saying they want a better America for everyone, and anyone who agrees should vote for them.
I will never understand the pundit obsession with getting Democrats to solve "political division."

Not only is this what they're already doing, but Klein admits that Republicans will never do the same. So elections will remain constant GOP smears and simping Democratic promises of bipartisanship.

The cultural changes they want cannot happen because the world they think they should have is imaginary and always was. They literally CANNOT accomplish their societal goals no matter how much they try. Trans people aren't going anywhere. Non-white people are always gonna be on TV.

The minidisc era was not long, but I was all in.

I had a shoebox full of discs in the car that compromised most of my music collection.

Imagine having access to just about anything you wanted to hear! Ok, so we got that now, but I had that THEN.

And the aesthetics were top notch.

These things are extremely chill, you can stay near the edge if you're claustrophobic like me, and if the vibe starts to feel off, you bounce. Long haul, people. Do a few of these so you start to know what feels safe and what doesn't.
Friends, if you haven’t been to a normie protest before, please don’t let some nutters on the internet worry you that you’re going to be tear gassed and beaten, it will be fine. By all means be reasonably cautious, but this is not a black bloc event okay? It’s fine.

If you follow an account who iin response to bad press for the GOP is to say "But Democrats..." then you should unfollow that account. Especially if they drag up old out of context material for it, or deliberately misrepresent something.

Wittingly or not that poster works against your interest.
