Grumpy old woman, loves dogs, sci fi and my family. Loathed the last Tory government, not too impressed by the current one either. Boomers may have voted for Brexit but it is Gen X who insist on maintaining it! No DMs

Nigel Farage has spent £1m taking out adverts in the papers to distract from the Nathan Gill Russian bribe scandal.

We can't let him buy himself out of this. We need an investigation into Russian influence in our politics.

Rachel Reeves wants us to buy British "that's why we stepped in to save British Steel"

So why can't we own our own water - starting with Thames Water?

Spiralling water bills are taking money directly out of people's pockets, flowing to shareholders around the world #Budget2025

The 50 wealthiest families own more wealth than the bottom 50% of the population.

How can this Labour Government say this is a "cost of living" budget and refuse to tax the rich?

They care about protecting power and wealth. And cost of living is a buzz phrase for them. Dire.

So Jury trials predate the Normans and are part of common law, however David 'fecking' Lammy thinks he can do away with most of them, nothing in the manifesto about that - they are making this shit up as they go - WTF were they doing to prepare for Govt - feck all by the looks of it

Nothing makes me more interested in something than being told it’s no longer relevant/I should move on.

See also: Brexit, Farage’s home ownership, Farage’s income streams, Reform’s funding and racism, their links to Russia, MAGA and the mountain of evidence that they’re traitorous lying bastards.

I don't find it astonishing in the slightest.
What I find astonishing is that Kuennsberg is still employed by the BBC. She should be working for GBNews or Times TV. Or Fox

A network of Safe routes with fast ‘yes/no’ decisions, a positive message on immigration would take the small boats gangs out of business and be acceptable to the great majority. Instead we get a poor man’s Farage tribute act.

Labour’s plan risks weakening protections for all of us. Human rights are universal - politicians may not always find them politically convenient but it shouldn’t fall to any government to say who those rights should and should not apply to. It’s a slippery slope to oblivion youtu.be/bl0Lm7v_T18?...

A lot of us never supported him. We just wanted the Tories out. His arrogant view that he was voted in because he was thought to be relevant opposition rather than the lesser of two evils will be his downfall.

I ENTIRELY understand why a party way to the left of Labour needs to exist.

I have NO IDEA why it needs to be Your Party, other than ego.

The Greens are RIGHT THERE. Corbyn will be 78 at the next election. And it's a shambles. Give up, lads.

🧵The shutdown wasn’t politics. It was a weapon. Families starved, workers went unpaid, airports collapsed into chaos, turned into cattle pens. #Trump and his billionaire #oligarchy didn’t care. They never do. Suffering is the point.
Democrats caved on shutdown as Trump’s indifference to Americans suffering proved stronger | Editorial
The shutdown underscored clear policy differences between the two political parties: Trump and the Republicans do not care about everyday Americans.

Nigel Farage says small businesses have been betrayed by Brexit’s red tape, but the betrayal is his. He promised freedom from bureaucracy, yet delivered border chaos, higher costs and endless paperwork. The small firms that trusted him are now trapped in the system he built.
