One fun (?) thing about humans is that we really do seem to be wired for struggle. Removing all material obstacles to happiness/comfort/fulfillment--e.g. by making us filthy rich--doesn't make us happy, comfortable, or fulfilled; we just invent new obstacles!

Yeah these are the real tell that this isn't about language, it's about policy. Shifting criminal justice toward the perspective of victims is an argument for mass incarceration!
