If "Scottish" Labour had any leverage at all,

Grangemouth would be safe,

The super-computer would be in Edinburgh,

The WASPI women would be compensated,

The two-child cap would be gone,

Pensioners would not freeze over winter.

But it doesn't.

It's a wasted vote!

English councils plan to sell off social clubs and sports centres to balance books.

Social spaces lost forever. Libraries, community centres, school playgrounds, parks closed/sold as council funding cut in real terms to appease the rich.

Social vandalism.

This could be #Scotland.

We produce more electricity than our nation needs.

Instead, it is channeled away south,

And then we have to pay 40 to 50% more for our power than Londoners.
This will be an incredible experiment to watch. I suspect the overall result will be greater economic prosperity fueled by the reduced cost of electricity for every link in the economic chain. Each link's savings should multiply all the others and create cascading benefits.

As one of the most advanced solar nations in the world, Australia is well placed to experiment with giving people free power - and if it succeeds, other countries may look to copy its approach

Two stories you may not have seen this week that would be a big deal in a normal country:

1) The ‘dossier’ detailing the BBC’s editing of the Trump speech literally edited Trump’s speech.

2) The NBER calculated that Brexit’s longer term damage to GDP was greater than originally forecast.

That’s why I’m calling to clearly label gum as containing plastic. It’s time to make this information visible on every pack.
