Man that is NOT gonna turn out for you the way you think
A Palantir billionaire just called for public hangings.

“It's time to bring back masculine leadership to protect our most vulnerable,” writes Joe Lonsdale.

This is where Silicon Valley authoritarianism is heading:

Started watching episodes of Fearful Symmetry from the @dungeonscrawlers.bsky.social and it is such a treat. Decided to do some drawing for fun tonight and sketched out some fanart of @rhiannonheld.bsky.social ‘s character Artemisia.

In issue 6 of READ BEFORE BURNING, I explain why that's so important, present the results of my research study into early warning signs of #burnout, and discuss ways to use those signs for early recognition / intervention.

An utter disgrace. A Trumpian level of destruction being wrought at the CSIRO under Albo.

"The environment unit, which has more than 700 full-time equivalent roles, will be reduced by 130 to 150. Four of its nine research focuses will not continue"
Climate of fear: are CSIRO’s sweeping job cuts a sign Australia doesn’t care about the extinction crisis?

It's insane to me that so many people live in countries where snow happens. Like. Not just on mountains and stuff, but in the street where you LIVE. Bonkers.

It doesn't help that in most places it's happening while I'm sitting in 35C heat. I know why conspiracy theories start is what I'm saying.

Ireland has always pulled its weight but imagine how much more it's going to do so in the next few years while every other country falls by the wayside.
Damn. This is amazing. £325 per week, paid monthly, for 3 years - and the result was a profit for the Irish economy:

I just listened to the first episode of this series and it was great! Fascinating discussion with Steven Gonzalez about emergencies, data centres, and what societies are willing to protect.
Reminder that I'm hosting a new podcast at @issuesinst.bsky.social where I basically invited a bunch of my friends who work in really interesting areas and we talk about what they do with a lens of disaster studies and speculative fiction. The conversations have been amazing!
Not Now, But Soon Archives
Not Now, But Soon challenges the stories we often tell about disasters and explores how we can use speculative fiction to create better futures.
