I don’t understand how the first reaction from leadership isn’t “This is an impeachable offense. My colleagues must defund Hegseth and begin drafting articles immediately.”

Like, even if it doesn’t get done, how are you not planting this flag in the ground immediately?

Marco Rubio is reportedly saying Maduro will stand trial in US courts.

Which means it’s now the US administration’s position that US courts can hold foreign presidents, but not the US president, accountable for crimes.

What drives the MAGA-religious is passion, identity, and even something so transcendent that it elevates a believer’s consciousness to unshakable sublimation to the leader—there are no unforgivable transgressions, and that includes pedophilia and sexual violence.

IMPORTANT: Congress could do this tomorrow. Trump could be unemployed by Monday.
Just a reminder: here is all that it took to get president Andrew Johnson impeached.

They introduced this and voted on it. They came up with the exact articles to send to the senate later.

This is nothing like Iraq. That was a catastrophe and moral atrocity, but also, Bush was incredibly popular, spent a year securing broad public support, received congressional authorization.

Trump is very unpopular, has not bothered to build any case, and is doing this illegally and unilaterally.

The stakes for the midterms are incredibly high.

It’s the last chance for Democrats to hold Trump accountable at the national level before he leaves office (unless he attempts to follow through on his musings to seek an unconstitutional third term).

But I don’t think I’ve seen a single one talking about Demoratic voters in Texas, or North Carolina, or Missouri losing their representatives.

Why?
It appears he’s pressuring Colorado to free his crooked ally who is imprisoned for tampering with voting systems.
Trump doesn’t give a crap about anything but his own money and power.

USAID *had* a budget of $30-35 Billion prior to the Trump administration eliminating them.

This does not even come close to the level of aid that we were providing to those who were starving and in desperate need around the world.
The U.S. has pledged $2 billion in humanitarian aid to the United Nations as part of a deal that will also overhaul how the U.S. funds foreign aid work going forward. https://to.pbs.org/3YS2q7C
