“We’ll Have Our Home” again is a song that’s extremely popular with white nationalists. It’s all over Telegram. I think the first time I heard it was from a video of a secretive group called the Mannerbünd.

Just a reminder that we successfully cut child poverty in half and then just decided we didn’t want to do that anymore
With the expiration of ACA subsidies, the pandemic welfare state has officially ended.

Probably just a coincidence that the pandemic-era policy Democrats managed to keep alive the longest is the one that spent tens of billions on health insurance companies.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey says 29 people were arrested in downtown last night during a noise demonstration at a hotel reportedly housing ICE agents: "For those that are taking the bait and causing property damage or otherwise, there are consequences. We're holding the line here all the way."

To call this out without even mentioning what the pro-Israel protesters were saying is disgusting. Ceding ground to bullshit optics of not wanting to “support Hamas”. It’s always morally just to support those who are legally resisting against the belligerent occupying apartheid force that is Israel.

“A school official, speaking to MPR News on condition of anonymity, said many students sheltered in a nearby library.” Libraries offer so many kinds of shelter, refuge, galvanization, conviviality, etc. They’re under attack by this regime, too, and must be defended.
Kind of wild there has been almost no coverage of the fact that the federal government unleashed chemical weapons against literal kids *at school*.

I don’t think they’re misreading them so much as they are terrified of the implications because it means the status quo has to break. there’s no incrementalism for this. mass radicalization of this scale scares Democrats more than anything Republicans could do and I mean that literally.
Kind of feel like a lot of politicians, even in Minnesota, are misreading the implications of this moment. I feel like the past three days have been tremendously radicalizing for so many people. I have witnessed it even in my own small communities, it goes beyond just incandescent rage.

Jonathan Ross, who shot Renee Good in the face, is local. Derek Chauvin, who knelt on George Floyd's neck, is local.
State and local law enforcement know the communities they serve. They’ve built the trust and know how to keep us safe.

As Minnesotans express their first amendment rights, I encourage you to remain peaceful and know that local law enforcement has one goal in mind: your safety.

Those of you who still insist on drawing a distinction between ICE and police should be aware that the police are not drawing that distinction.
Thank you for telling us you neither serve nor protect. Thank you for saying the quiet part out loud. That was state murder in broad daylight, captured from multiple angles by multiple witnesses, and the people of Minneapolis have eyes.

You support murder.

oh you want to 'abolish ice' but what if a person from somewhere else steps onto the same big piece of ground i'm on. i'm already crying, see what you did
Continue to think that saying “abolish ICE” without explaining how you’ll enforce the law is a trap, but boosting this
"YouGov has ICE at 39% favorable, 52% unfavorable...But this top line really understates the intensity of public backlash to ICE and its tactics. In February 2025, just 19% of Americans held a strongly unfavorable view of ICE. Today, 40% do."

Renee Good's queerness cannot be erased, and Becca Good cannot be overlooked. The fact is, a queer woman was murdered by a government agent in front of her wife. Any attempt to spin it as any other narrative is erasure and part of an ongoing effort to minimize and ostracize queer lives in America.

The erasure of Becca Good from the narrative by mainstream press, especially major national outlets, is disgusting and shouldn't be ignored. She was there. She saw this awful murder. And the media would rather spend time focusing on a deceased former husband of Renee's.

I really want to stress the extent to which, in 1992, *no one accepted the idea O'Connor did this for a reason*. Any reason! She was generally assumed to be "crazy". The line is "well in 1992, no one knew". Yet somehow, at the time all us nine-year-olds knew "jokes" about what happened to altar boys
What I'm listening to today: "War"

Sinead O'Connor covering Bob Marley, stripped down, sharpened, into something like a weapon. This ran live on TV and all anyone talked about was the career-ending final seconds. No one understood why she did it. Child abuse? Absurd

Leftists try to use Palestine as a wedge issue on Democrats during an existential crisis for America democracy. Instead of rallying against fascism in America, you all would rather dilute and split the opposition to American fascism. Why? For Palestine.

they didn’t leak it to make the shooter look innocent, but to make the victim look guilty. not guilty of a crime. guilty of having a visibly queer wife. guilty of liberalism. guilty of opposing the regime. they don’t seek to exonerate themselves, only to demonstrate who deserves to die.
In the video that the shooter took, which I believe was leaked to be exculpatory, he appears to yell “fucking bitch” after he shoots Renee Good.

outside of the mental/behavior side of things, there's also the settler colonial aspect to all this. a certain set of people were entitled to land and slaves, indigenous ppl are obstacles and threats to what was their "god given right", so you get that combo of aggrieved entitlement from that, too.
my hat to throw into the 'psycholanalyzing the conservative mindset' post genre is: weaponized overgeneralized hypervigilance. everyone becomes a threat except for ppl who are overly ingratiating kiss-asses that don't push back against you, and further encourage and enable each other.

I see the world's Bravest & Most Realistic Liberals have the same problem with 'Abolish ICE' as they did with 'defund the police'

I wonder what slogan they would be comfortable with?

'Tax Credits For ICE Operatives Who Are Assault Free In Designated Protest Zones over a 12 Month Period'?
