Train Dreams: Unfortunately this is pretentious. It seeks a profundity its folksy wisdom and (deliberately) myopic perspective cannot obtain.

Man, they're still running the Bliss n Esso Menulog ad. So that's two things past their use by date.

I spent so much time in Marvel’s Deadpool VR having nonstop “Deadpool jokes” pumped directly into my ear that I started to see the very predictable anatomy of a “Deadpool joke.” So here is a cursed review of Marvel’s Deadpool VR. www.polygon.com/marvels-dead...

I can't believe that hate reading L*ke B*ckmaster didn't make me feel better. (Surely the only published critic who would put "pretentious" and "cerebral" in the same, negative box.)

Why is it that Australia’s biggest cultural exports are wildly successful children’s entertainment and the most fucked up horror movies you’ve ever seen?

Scout* barely realised that something round and hard, with smoke coming from it, had landed in front of them before it exploded.

Pain suddenly shot through their leg and arm. Scout fell to their knees, before someone nearby helped them rush out of the area.

Sometimes it's fun to think about how retail theft has never really gotten more sophisticated but, for some reason, retailers need ever more sophisticated tools to deal with it

Memoria: Sad I didn't get to see this in the cinema because, unfortunately, AW's rhythms just aren't as bewitching when experienced at home between weird ass shift times.

I have now fallen asleep trying to finish watching Memoria like 4 times between this and yesterday's 6am start. Weerasethakul would be proud.
What I should have done: taken a couple of days off to see The Mastermind, Bugonia, Train Dreams and Predator. What I did: work 34 hours over three days.

God bless whoever gave Reichardt the money to make The Mastermind a period piece. The roll down window boot is my favourite thing in movies this year.

Also I love this movie's elliptical but not obtuse storytelling.

Spent the day sanding down seasonal polystyrene props for a popular Brisbane "experience". Either they were a bit phallic or I was bored out of my mind.

My life is neither lucrative nor exciting but sometimes it's mildly weird.

Watching Memoria and I have to admit that if someone asked me to make a sound "rounder" it would not occur to me to make the attack less dramatic but that does make perfect sense.
