Jaimie Raskin just called J.D. Vance "Trump's pet chameleon," which I liked very much. Insult by understatement....
“I’m a Grok guy” is the single most embarrassing phrase ever uttered in the course of human history.
JD Vance: "I'm a Grok guy. I think it's the best. It's also the least woke."

And also, they want to live in a place where the poor are not so desperate they might eat them. Sure, it’s neoliberal ‘quiet’ as opposed to ‘just’ but barely enough?

Also...
Rich New Yorkers won't leave New York for the same reason they won't give up any other expensive, luxurious thing they own. Because living here is in and of itself an expensive status symbol.
And expensive status symbols are how they define themselves.

I'm sure I could have optimized my taxes better when I lived in California, but honestly I just sort of assume that I make like 65% of my salary after tax, and that's ... fine?

one of the funnier bits about moving from a blue state to a red state is that red states still need money to run things and will often just collect it via fees instead

so you pay less in taxes but everything else is more expensive and you don’t actually come out much better
Decent number of the California conservative transplants to Texas have been surprised to find 1: it's not actually that much cheaper, 2: our services suck, 3: they will still be treated like blue haired hippies just for being from California

We need an electric version of this! I bet they'd sell like hotcakes!
pickup trucks for the average person should not have been allowed to advance past this. if you need anything bigger, you should have to provide some kind of documentation showing you have the license and need for special heavy machinery, otherwise you get the 1990 toyota hilux

Yep, yep, yep, yep, yep!
Only proven use for crypto is money laundering and avoiding laws around currency transfer.
Eric Trump: "You can send $500 million worth of bitcoin on a Sunday night at 11pm while having a glass of wine with your wife for virtually zero fees."

As a heart failure patient, (preserved ejection fraction,) I found this explanation insanely helpful. For example, now I know why my condition is so serious -- because it's related to the ventricles! Doctors try to explain this stuff to me, but as a non-doctor, it's hard to understand. So helpful!
This is complex and involves a few points so bear with me.

The heart is a large muscle with hollow spaces inside of it that can collect blood. There are two types of spaces in the heart: atria and ventricles.

Atria primarily collect blood. Their function is important but not totally required.

Yet, luring away those stupid enough to trade a real job with a pension for the baubles they're dangling will at least raise the overall intelligence levels of those left at the NYPD!
Can't think of many people less likely to join ICE than an anti-fascist journo that lives on the other side of the world, but Google served me this ad regardless. Fuck these technofeudalists.

Interesting that they're targeting NYPD officers. Zohran is gonna need to watch that.

JD Vance owns a company that buys American real estate and sells it to foreign investors. They specifically target Americans in crisis to buy their property for less than it is worth.
JD Vance: "A lot of young people are saying housing is way too expensive. Why is that? Because we flooded the country with 30 million illegal immigrants who were taking houses that ought by right go to American citizens."

Some Dems and pundits overread the significance of Trump's win. They looked at dissatisfaction with the border and discerned a seismic cultural reaction to immigration levels inside the country. The former was real. The latter is a mirage.
