I can't think of a faster way to undermine the country than simultaneously firing government workers, cutting scientific research, rolling back protections on public health & environment, & cutting essential services. It's like the US was defeated in war and is being occupied by a hostile enemy.

In President Donald Trump’s meritocracy, you apparently don’t need much educational experience to run the Department of Education.

With a demonstrated lack of knowledge about even the most basic education laws and policies, wrestling exec and billionaire Linda McMahon is now the head of the DOE.

31 current and former School Board members from 7 states have signed our letter: SAVE the Department of Education!
Public education is the bedrock of our democracy. Abolishing the DOE would exacerbate educational disparities, and especially harm students with disabilities.

I love Alice & Martin Provensen's work - they both came from the animation industry (she w/ Walter Lantz Studio and he w/ Walt Disney Studio) in the 1940s. Met in '43, married in '44. Here, they did some fantastic work for The Fireside Cook Book (1949). Simply beautiful work. #wardsmorguefile
