It's not every day that someone stakes their political future on the right to queue!
Keir Starmer attacks the racism of Reform and Matt Goodwin but then adds that "Britain has also been let down by a mindset on the left of politics that is too slow to defend core British values"

I am moving Bonds to CF flanked by Clemente and Waner

BUT I would love to fit RJ Reynolds into this...
You can only start 3 former #Pittsburgh #Pirates outfielders, which ones do you choose?

I think it's best for everyone to understand that the unified class project of billionaires right now is to do to white collar workers what globalization and neoliberalism did to blue collar workers.

As a Baltimore Elite Giants fan, I am in favor of all Gilliam-love!
Maury Wills doesn’t steal 104 bases and win MVP without Jim Gilliam hitting behind him and taking pitches.

Gilliam was the blueprint for a super utility man, a fantastic teammate who became a beloved coach. He’s the retired number people don’t know nearly enough about.

Every day Mamdani comes out and is like "hey guys, I turned off the orphan-crushing machine. Literally just had to flip a switch. Took less than 5 minutes."

After decades of dem leadership pissing and moaning and fundraising about how complex an issue it is and how difficult the process is etc

Religious persecution. They were being moved from one part of present day Switzerland to another (I think...it was before there was a Switzerland) and my ancestor escaped, came to PA, then got his family to follow a little after.
Genuinely curious: If your family is American, what brought them here?
Mine: religious nuttery & primogeniture

So it seems that Elon Musk tried to do the pedophilia but wasn't cool enough? Is that right?

Honest question, have @tbt-duluth.bsky.social (my favorite band) done any anti-ICE songs or concerts or anything?

It's always good to make major changes to your baseball ops AFTER the off season right?

If at some point the Brewers start Caleb Durbin at 3B + Jett Williams at SS in a MLB game, they would be the 1st team to start a 3B & SS both 5 ft 7 in or shorter in a game since:

7/8/1933 Reds
SS Sparky Adams, 5 ft 5 in
3B Andy High, 5 ft 6 in

In college we had a Top Gun party, turned the front of our house into a giant cardboard plane. I wrote up a ranking of the top 73 moments in the movie.

every time i see a white guy in their fifties radicalized by the twitter algorithm into racism and extremism i think about how it's a total failure of the youtube algorithm to instead radicalize him into home brewing, elaborate A/V setups, or DIY solar

I very recently found out about Johan Santana....

I have also struggled with Harry Potter because it has so much meaning outside of the books themselves for me, esp. between my wife and I.
Question for the Skyline: What was your HARDEST "cancel"?? Like the actor/singer/athlete that was the hardest to drop.

I feel like it's always people I don't fw getting canceled so it's never really a loss.

The hardest one was maybe TI because I actually liked multiple albums by him.

This can all be reduced to: STEM is Chad and how you get Job and Money and thus Virtue, while humanities are feminine and gay. It is the lie they use to create cheap labor, social disconnection, and eventually anger that they can mold into violence - all in service of the Owners. Which ain't you.
The U.S. has successfully convinced its people that “the humanities are frivolous and STEM is Important and Real” is basically a law of nature: this is absolute nonsense that we should stop putting up with.

Not the (well-made) point...

I was astounded to learn that kids don't have orange slices at games anymore! It has to be packaged!
so ALL of these children just magically *have* orange slices after EVERY soccer game???

ok George Soros
Lot of conservative dudes out there telling on themselves by being astounded by a level of ”logistics” that the average mom has to manage every fucking day

Some thoughts:

1. The deadline for nominating a person or group for the Nobel Peace Prize is Feb. 1.

2. History professors are qualified nominators.

3. The people of Minnesota have been awe-inspiringly peaceful in the face of state violence.

4. He would be so mad.

All the anti-war and anti-occupation protestors were right. All the far leftists were right. All the “woke scolds” and your friend who’s “too woke” were right. They were somehow even more right than they may have realized at the time. But really, it was always obvious they were right.
