please don't read this as a defense of Rubio but his apparent task in this interview--to square the various contradictory statements made by Trump and his officials while evading any questions about the action's legality--was simply not going to be possible under any circumstances.
STEPHANOPOULOS: Why wasn't congressional authorization necessary?

RUBIO: It wasn't necessary because this was not an invasion. We didn't occupy a country. This was an arrest operation.

Oh look, a leader with a backbone…

Spanish PM Sánchez has stated that Spain will neither recognize the govt of Nicolás Maduro nor support any U.S. military intervention in Venezuela, warning that such action would violate international law and endanger regional stability.

Watching the interview of Rubio; the man is in need of psychiatric help.

His justification and normalisation of what Trump has done, is clearly insane!

Fuck me!

So why didn’t we wait for Putin’s legal defence, before we decried Russia and placed sanctions?

Starmer is nothing more than a facade for his puppet masters.
Lewis Goodall humiliates Labour's Darren Jones who is unable to criticise President Trump for breaking international law by attacking Venezuela

Humiliating, pathetic, soulless - Darren Jones, what a let down

A very long and important THREAD -

The real reason the US is invading Venezuela goes back to a deal Henry Kissinger made with Saudi Arabia in 1974.

And I'm going to explain why this is actually about the SURVIVAL of the US dollar itself.

Not drugs. Not terrorism. Not "democracy." 1/

Keir Starmer may once have moved in circles where a chap’s word was his bond. He needs to grasp that he’s now dealing with an entirely different and wholly capricious kind of animal, Ruth Wishart ✍️

I used to have so much respect and admiration for Yvette Cooper.

Not anymore.

Even with all the Labour failings of this government, I thought she was still a decent human with morals.

They can all get in the bin.

US chicken is chlorinated because America has no animal welfare laws where poultry is concerned. It has to be chlorinated because Salmonella and e. coli run rife

The EU banned that practice in 1997 and as such the UK has among the highest welfare and standards in the world. 1/2

wow it's day four of 2026 and I've already said "fuck off Darren" twice and it was for two different things.
Govt minister Darren Jones is asked what element of international law gives the US the right to abduct the leader of another country.

Jones says he's not qualified to answer that question and he's not a spokesperson for the US administration.
