Fuck Amazon, you guys
While independent bookstores are giving out free whistles, hosting protest sign making events, and donating proceeds to mutual aid, Amazon is *checks notes* providing technology that assists ICE in their terrorizing of communities.

Independent bookstores deserve your support. Amazon does not.

Fun fact: Your local bookstore is doing more to protect you and your neighbors than Amazon is.

“There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.”
Postscript: Here are two people who brought guns to a protest and are not only still alive, but were subsequently invited to speak at the 2020 RNC. The fact that this protest was in support of George Floyd does not imply a contradiction in the gun nut world view.

I could be mistaken, but I think a subsidiary of Canada's largest IT corporation, CGI, sells asset management software to ICE. In other words, A Canadian company is directly profiting from tracking ICE's stuff. Canadian digital sovereignty eh

Looks like software for tracking ICE's "personal property, real property, IT assets, materials, vehicles, sensitive assets and more." Seems newsworthy 🤷

Feeling very grateful to have spent some quality time out on the ODR this weekend with friends and neighbours. My son took the team photo, too. Trying not to take these times for granted.

We seem to have no mechanism with which to break up the state’s monopoly on violence. The state’s power grows, year after year, as what checks we once had are hollowed out from within. Our so-called leaders paint “Abolish ICE” as extremism but in reality it is an extremely moderate position.

Squeeze everything you can out of these fleeting years, friends — just after we thaw out.
Hoping to avoid frostbite and maybe win a game or two at the RVCC 4x4 outdoor hockey tourney this weekend. 🌲😺🥶

THEY’RE NOT EVEN COLD
It's already demoralizing to be a federal thug, a barely sentient ogre. Nobody likes or respects you. But then you go to work in -19 weather thinking surely today you'll get a break from people yelling at you. But no there they are. They're not even cold
Outside the Twin Cities this morning, where it is -19F—

Minnesotans are gathered early outside the Whipple Federal Building. ICE and DHS agents currently arriving at work to much disapproval.

I’m tired of being talked down to by people like this. They are doing the Elon Musk Mars In 2 Years bit but have tied the entire U.S. economy to a bespoke compliment generator. It’s time to start talking about these AI mutants like delusional babies.
