For this who missed the explanation y’day
1. Fake accounts gather followers & pivot to fascism, spam etc.
2. Many ppl use nuclear blocks - block the bad account *and all of their followers*
If you accidentally follow spam, u get labelled as spam-adjacent & will find ur experience here deteriorates
For people just joining Blue Sky:

There are accounts who will auto-follow tens of thousands of accounts to get follow backs.

Dont follow these accounts back.

Be VERY discerning with your follow backs. Only follow those who are interesting to you.

Sadly many still believe that nuclear is the answer and will magically be cheaper than renewables, which already push prices so cheap as to allow plans that literally give away energy for free.
'renewables don’t need a debate, don’t need a new industry, don’t need 15+ years lead time, and don’t need to be 100% bankrolled by taxpayers. firmed renewables are available now, are cheap & constantly getting cheaper, and there’s a huge industry & workforce ready & willing to roll them out.'
I had to explain the energy transition to my local federal MP, why closing coal early is good, and why nuclear power can’t help Australia solve the climate crisis.

Read what I wrote in ‘Climate Action: Accelerate. Safely. But, Accelerate.”

With all the talk about energy prices, I'm sure you're all asking yourselves how much households other than yours pay for energy. Surely not everyone spends £[insert price cap] a year. Ask no more.

Here we explain and chart how things like heating tech, house size and lifestyles affect bills:
How different households use energy and how much it costs them

Have I had my mind changed on social media? Yes - NOT by arguing with randoms, but by following experts and first hand folks who share what they do, what they think and what's going on. The change isn't binary - I used to think one thing, and suddenly now another - it's slow and additive: Learning.

The UK phased out coal-fired electricity in 2024 after a decade of declining generation. Gas generation is also on the decline. If you want to meet growing electricity demand, it’s now cheaper to do so with renewables than fossil fuels. 🧪🔌💡 www.technologyreview.com/2024/09/30/1...
The UK is done with coal. How’s the rest of the world doing?
The country’s final coal-fired power plant just shut down, marking a major milestone for the notoriously polluting fossil fuel.

Just though I would share this useful UK #EV statistic; October 2024

Number of UK charge points (71,459)
Actual connectors (108,633)
Geographical locations (36,060)
(1025 additional locations were added that month)

That's 1 connection for every 12 cars (most of which charge at home)
