More than 50% of energy generation for the #grid is currently coming from #wind

I wonder if people would find it interesting if the forecast included predicted grid carbon intensity

Today’s Father’s Day but did you know, in the UK, it’s 9 months until Mother’s Day

If you’re reading your timeline on socials and feeling negatively then know that you can be in control of how you feel without engaging in arguments.

Put out some positive posts and feel good about something which is important to you.

Don’t be shy. What was your last sustainable action or decision you made? Can be big or small but you might just inspire someone.

Time of use tariffs give us the ability to flex with the grid based on when renewables are present but also incentivise to avoid using the grid when renewables are low

You’re working in the marketing department of an EV dealership and been asked to write the sales campaign for a new EV model. The only caveat is you can’t use the environmental benefits.

What do you include in the sales campaign?

Today is #WorldEarthDay and the theme this year is “Our Power, Our Planet”.

So I encourage you to share your sustainable and renewable actions so others can see what can be done. #EarthActionDay

Our Power, Our Planet - Earth Day
By 2035 energy needs in countries such as the U.S. can be met by renewable sources, 365 days a year, which is why we are calling for renewable energy generation.

I’ve been listening to the latest Green Queens podcast at 10 episodes old

I had never heard of lab grown diamonds before and this episode is very insightful on how a luxury goods industry can be made sustainable. Take a listen or watch

I’ve calculated that my PV #solar can generate more electricity than my home uses not including my EV

If I can charge at night it costs less then 2p per mile and if I can look at the predicted #wind in the #grid I can add cleaner energy into my car

Another #solar record for the UK #grid yesterday
April 7, 2025 at 6:19 PM
Would you be willing to move your EV charging to a different day? If so I recommend following the @octopus.energy #GreenerDays predictor to look for the nights where there is the most wind in the #grid. I will be waiting until Thursday night to charge my EV this week as a result

Today has been a great day of #solar as a net exporter of electricity today

Energy self sufficiency and energy cost reduction is one reason for installing #solar on your roof but it also helps decarbonise the #grid

I’ve been playing in Home Assistant and I now have a card using ⁦‪Octopus Energy‬ Greener Days forecasting to see when it is cleanest to charge my car or use my@home energy storage

Why is Mother’s Day an hour shorter than every other day of the year?

In other news did you know Mother’s Day is 9 months after Father’s Day?

I’m desperate to be proved wrong but I am finding it hard to see the benefit of using electric to make hydrogen to make electric in passenger vehicles.

There are plenty of use cases for Hydrogen but passenger vehicles doesn’t look to be one. I’m hoping I’m wrong.

You’re socialising with friends and family when the topic of climate change comes up.

There’s a desire to take action but they don’t really know where to begin as there’s a lot of terms and phrases which they’re unsure of.

What would be your recommendations be to decarbonise their energy use?

If we’ve connected here it’s because either you post interesting content and passionate about your area of expertise or you’ve seen some of my posts and hopefully find them informative.

Either way thank you for helping grow my network and keep being passionate about clean energy and transportation

People often question why I advocate for clean energy and zero emission vehicles?

The simple answer is that I want to be able to look my children, and hopefully one day grandchildren, in the eye and say “I tried to make a difference to make a change to cleaner air”.
