Claude showing up in Copilot isn’t about more model choice.
It’s about Microsoft deciding which AI speaks inside your workflows.
Why that distinction matters: buckleyplanet.com/2026/01/copi...
Copilot Isn’t Becoming a Marketplace. It’s Becoming the Broker. – buckleyPLANET
Claude in Microsoft Copilot signals a shift. Copilot isn’t offering model choice. It’s deciding how enterprise AI works.

"If #renewables are so good why haven't my electricity bills gone down?"

Here's part of the answer (though the naysayers could have found the answer easily if they'd wished).

Land Use: Golf Courses vs Renewable Energy Sources

This short article contrasts the environmental impacts of golf courses and renewable energy farms. You might be surprised which have higher land use and greater ongoing environmental footprint.

Satellites and Climate change
Climate Change Is Undeniable: What Satellites Reveal Satellite observations have become one of the most powerful tools for understanding how Earth’s climate is changing. Unlike ground‑based measurements, satellites provide continuous, global, and highly precise data—making them ideal for detecting long‑term trends.Over decades of monitoring, satellites have recorded clear and consistent evidence of a warming planet. These measurements include rising global temperatures, shrinking ice sheets, accelerating sea‑level rise, and shifts in atmospheric and oceanic patterns.

UK 2025 car sales by type.
Pure battery #EV cars continue to massively outgrow others. Petrol declines 8%, diesel down 15%.

I got tired of responding to so many ill-informed folk who deny cliamte change and our part in it. It would be easier, I thought, to summarise and publish the evidence. So here it is.
CO₂ and Climate Change
The evidence confirms that human-emitted carbon dioxide (CO₂) is the primary cause of recent climate change, leading to a significant rise in global temperatures. This article summarises the evidence and debunks the naysayers' misinformation

UK electricity demand grew 4TWh in 2025.
Potential supply feel by 10TWh:
2TWh of coal generation eliminated
Nuclear output fell by 5TWh due to refuelling breaks and outages
Imports declined and exports increased; net imports down 1TWh (4%).

Analysis: UK renewables enjoy record year in 2025 – but gas power still rises - Carbon Brief
UK’s fleet of wind, solar and biomass power plants set records in 2025, Carbon Brief analysis shows, but electricity from gas still went up.

#Renewable energy supplied 47% of UK electricity in 2025, more than any other source.
Gas (28%), nuclear (11%), imports (10%).
New generation records set:
#Wind (87TWh, +5%)
#Solar (19TWh, +31%)
#Biomass (41TWh, +2%)
Overall renewables (152TWh, +6%).

51.5% of India's power came from renewables on 29 July - an amazing achievement so many said can't be done - while the country delivered 50 % of installed electric power capacity from non-fossil fuel sources 5 years early

UK #fossilfuel imports have fallen sharply over the last decade:

~30,000 GWh less imported fossil #energy
Import dependency down 27%, £40–50bn spend avoided
0.32% of GDP saved in 2024 alone

Renewables: 50–60%
Energy efficiency: 20–30%
Manufacturing shrinkage: 20–25%

Not a bad year.
Combined with the £690 we were paid for exporting it's easy to see how it's possible to get pretty much to zero energy bills despite being a high energy (9.3MWh) household.
