The MOST IMPORTANT thing we can do now politically is to expand and strengthen our tribes.

No one knows what is going to happen but we do know that we are going to need each other more than ever to thrive facing the rising tide of darkness and evil. We will need to lean on core values of Mutual Aid

In 2025, AI slop is everywhere. The best way to beat it is systemic change, regulatory overhaul. But the second-best way is by rebelling against it in our everyday lives.

That means sustained, active engagement with non-slop—real people, challenging art, new ideas—in the real world and online.
Monster of 2025: AI slop
The drive for a frictionless existence has sloppified our offline lives, too.

More of this please. Non violent resistance wins the day.
Sorry ass sons a bitches.
Watch this.

Open your eyes to this brutality.

ICE beats up, drags & abducts this disabled visually impaired man.

Now share this.

Everyone must see the brutality of this administration & ask themselves what they are doing to push back.

You have power.

Even sharing this video exerts that power.

What we’re being told is that a guy who is an adjudicated rapist, who was credibly accused of sexual assault by dozens of women, who paid hush money to a porn star, who cheated on all his wives, who is mentioned hundreds of times in the Epstein files, couldn’t possibly be a sexual predator.

Ideology thrives on insulation. Communities that never encounter opposing ideas lose the ability to reason; they memorize talking points instead. One of the simplest acts of civic recovery is to restore curiosity.

This is good not bad. If OpenAI does well so should its employees.

My least popular (and most correct) view is that cars should be automatically limited to the local speed limit. Put the pedal to the floor and you still can't go over 25mph in a residential area.

(15 in Manhattan btw)
There is no possible justification for limiting e-bikes to 15mph but not cars.

Good point.
“Both Sherrill and Mayor Daniel Lurie, who each have strong support in the YIMBY community, blasted the proposal”

Mayor backs building luxury towers on Safeway lot to gentrify the Fillmore but not luxury towers on the Safeway lot in the Marina. What could possibly account for the difference?
Marina’s reaction to Safeway tower plans: ‘Along comes this behemoth right on the waterfront’
Plans to put a 25-story apartment complex on San Francisco’s Marina district sparked concerts about a future where the city’s waterfront is ringed by tall housing structures.

This is exactly what happened in San Francisco. Calvin Welch and the other fauxgressives downzoned The City in 1978 and set in motion the framework which has inevitably led to rising rents and home prices and gentrification.
What happens when you downzone?

Our new open-access research paper in @findingspress.org investigates effects of decades of downzoning in Chicago.

Findings:
—Downzoned areas added 1/7th of the new units as comparable non-downzoned areas;
—Downzoned areas became more white & were more expensive.
Downzoning Chicago: How Local Land Use Policy Has Reduced Housing Construction and Reinforced Segregation | Published in Findings
By Yonah Freemark, George Kisiel. Downzonings were used by US cities in the postwar period to preserve neighborhood character. These land-use policies were associated with lower housing supply, higher...

Why do fauxgressives lie about things like this?

“It highlights the lie that all we need to do is remove the protections and processes for community input and democratic land use and get out of the way of the real estate industry, and they’ll solve our affordability problems,”

It’s deliberate policy choices by both the fauxgressives and the conservatives that got us here.
"My Centrelink payment is $1600 a fortnight, but my rent is $1700, so already everything has gone to paying the rent."

it's not the rental crisis that is causing such misery.

It's decades of bipartisan housing, tax & welfare policy which has pushed up housing costs and kept 1 in 6 kids #poverty.

The people of Chicago won

Trump, Kristi Noem and ICE lost

Not only did Greg Bovino and his agents leave the city in disgrace

A judge ruled that they must release as many as 615 unjustly detained immigrants

Plus-they must stop pressuring immigrants to voluntarily leave
